The weather on my end was rather hot the past couple of days, but this morning it was freezing cold. I went to grab another blanket and to check the temp, only to discover that it was just 74F... This Texas heat has killed my cold tolerance.
"What is Montana like? Generally, as in the people, environment, scenery, the like? I've always wondered. :]"
Hmm, well, Montana is considered close to a desert as we don't get much rain. But, I live in the Western part, so I'm always in sight of The Rocky Mountains- even my grandparents live at the base of the chain. ^__^ I love the weather here! It may get bitter cold in winter and sweltering hot in summer, but I know it's worse elsewhere in the US. Also, we're safe here from floods, earthquakes (for the most part, we have had some but nothing BIG), and tornadoes (at least in the west because of the mountain range- except for that one in Polson two years ago...). In general, I love it here! We have a tremendous abundance of wildlife and nature. I can't tell you how many times I've opened up the front door of my home and found deer tracks right up at the door! XD We live in a nice little neighborhood on a hill. :D
The reason so many people move up here is because of the scenery and the nature. :)
The people are actually quite friendly. A friend of mine moved here from Kansas 6 years ago and when he first got here, he was scared out of his mind! In Kansas, people didn't smile or help out (I dunno if it's like that everywhere there, but that's what he grew up in) and when he came here, he was surprised to find that Montanans are naturally courteous and we're all friendly for the most part. You can say "hi" to just about anyone and they'll return it like it's the most natural thing! Plus, I've seen a lot of people help complete strangers out just because they're nice. Y'know, helping others with heavy groceries and holding doors open and such. Once, I was walking home from school and saw a guy trying to unload a washing machine from his truck. Without a secong thought, both Angelo and I rushed to help him take it to his front door. ^__^
This is just a quick overview. I mean, we have the usual dangers that you experience anywhere, but I live in an alright place.
