LOL I will explain John a bit.

He is a spirit who haunts the amulet Eris carries. Occasionally he will possess Eris and perform experiments...even commit murders. He is a wicked man, but it seems like he is searching for something. Or trying desperately to achieve something.

I'm guessing there WOULD be some sort of aura to you, since he can see spirits. But a more visual sign that Eris is possessed is in his eyes. Normally Eris's eyes are solid white, but when John is in control there are black pupils. ;)

As for the Reaper, that sounds about right too. John IS cheating Death...sort of. But something is keeping him bound to the amulet. LOL
