It is after story which hits me with it. I recommend watch. Although it's probably only such a big shock the first time watching, may not be after spoilers :P
I love clannad too but it didn't exactly make me cry...But I cry at really weird animes, like I cried at the end of Hanasaku Iroha movie and Sakurasou no pet na kanojo...
My Lord, I am re-watching it, the first season gets me towards tear a bit, but Clannad after story was the very first anime that genuinely made me cry... xD
You just reminded me! I need to finish the second season of Clannad, because I watched its movie I kinda spoiled the ending for myself, that's why I stopped watching it...
