Hello, everyone. Sorry for not getting this update sooner. I had surgery recently and afterwards I felt like I was not up to it. All these posts I’ve been typing in my bed and its taking me a bit longer than normal.
Headline News
- Katana: Chapter Twelve is now posted. Scratch what I said about the posting delay. If you want to know, ask Die Before I Wake about her computer troubles.
- The Brigade's first contest has been announced
- YYH Season One Box Set review has been posted and nominated as a fanword. If my digital camera wants to work with me, I might make a Brigade Member Edition (basically more pictures)
- The Brigade, from time-to-time, will have a chat room. I will explain this in a minute.
In Other News
As soon as I can make it over to my drawing table, I’m going to make this cute YYH pic for the Brigade. Use your imagination: YYH + the SOS Brigade = ?
There will be another fan fiction very soon. But I need to make it over to my desk first, which might take a few more days. I can barely make it to my alarm clock (less than a foot from my bed) XD
What I was saying about the chat, every other day or so there is a YYH Brigade chat room on theO. We do everything from “mingling”, from sharing fanfic ideas, to discussing YYH. It is usually open after 11pm EST, otherwise look for a member in the lobby because theO does not like one person to a chat room, even if waiting for others. Feel free to ask questions. If we want to have a password protected Brigade meeting one day, just give me a show of hands to let me know.

As I promised, I shall announce our first contest.
I have been thinking that we need a logo to put on the Brigade website and to help “advertise” the Brigade. Originally, I was going to make it myself, but I believe that this should extend to the other Brigade members.
The objective is simple: make a logo that represents the YYH Brigade. The person(s) who creates a logo that all three+ judges agree on will find their logo representing the Brigade.
Rules
- The logo must, at least, say “YYH”. “Brigade” is optional, and “Yu Yu Hakusho” is an alternate to “YYH”
- There is no limit to how many entries you may submit
- If your logo is chosen, you will be asked to send the artwork with the full resolution in an email
Here are some things to help you out:
- You do not necessarily have to be the best artist to win (no offense to anyone). If we like your logo design, but it is not the best artwork then we will use it as a template and create a fully rendered one.
- Since we the Brigade is not a shrine to any specific character then if you are going to use any characters, it is best to have all four main characters and/or something that represents them
- The name of the Brigade is based off the SOS Brigade from the Haruhi Suzumiya series. Giving you that hint, this is what their logo looks like:
The contest ends August 21st. The contest is only open to Brigade members, but any member that joins between now and August 21st is welcome to participate. Just submit the art to theOtaku and tag it: yyh brigade logo
If we have enough entries, we will do a preliminary vote on the Brigade to help with the selection, which I will explain in detail when the time comes.

- The Season One Box Set Review is almost done. I am adding finishing touches to it.
- Chapter Twelve of Katana will be added much latter than usual due to unfortunate news that I will explain later.
