Yoko Kurama Story Part Two

By Suika Sohma
(On a roll, eh?)

"Demon...plane?" Yusuke stared at Suika, the words sinking in. "HER?!" He pointed skeptically. "But that aura I felt...It was..." His words trailed off as he realized the powerful potential the girl standing inches from him had.

Suika gaped in denial at the crimson-haired human before her. This human, he's radiating Kurama's aura...but...how? What is this??

Kurama was still giving her that unfeeling expression.

"You don't belong here." He said without inflection. His words seemed coated with ice. "Go back... And don't give us any trouble."

The last statement, though said the same as the first, sent fear racking through her body. At that moment, the look in his eyes was rage. His first statement was an order, and the second, a loaded warning.

Without another word, he walked past her, inches away, and exited the room without looking back.

With a sharp gasp, she exhaled the breath she had been holding, her eyes wide and her body cold with sweat. I shouldn't be scared of a human...but, I shouldn't be attracted to one, either! She squeezed her eyes shut, so confused. After standing there like a statue for several minutes, she shakily left the school building.

"???" The secretary was confused, since she hadn't heard anything Kurama had said.

"..." Suika sat under a cherry tree, pulling her knees to her chin and leaning against the trunk.

Should I really go...? Her claws dug into the dirt at her sides as soft cherry petals drifted around her. ...I've come so far... She fought tears.

"..." A shadow fell over her and she looked up to find someone dangling upside down from the branch above her. "Why is there an A-ranked demon in the human plane?" Hiei asked with a poker face.

Suika felt fiery tears in the corners of her eyes.

"You know what?!" She yelled, showing her canine fangs and fox ears. "I have every right to be here as you and Kurama! HYPOCRITES! And if you want to fight me, let's go!"

"Calm down." Hiei closed his eyes, flipping back up onto the branch in one smooth motion. "I meant that it's refreshing to see another demon...Humans get boring after a while." He rolled his eyes, looking solemnly at the school.

Suika cautiously cooled down, off the defensive. Hiei smirked.

"But, you're going to have to do better than that. You don't even LOOK human and I could sense your aura from a ridiculous distance." He paused, face serious, and shifted his gaze to lock hers. "And I DO want to fight you...I'm a little dissatisfied with being a B-ranked demon...but not here...got it?"

"Why not now?" Suika asked in anticipation.

"You've started a trend." Hiei responded. "Another A-ranked demon has just gotten loose."
