I guess I didn't take a break for too long, did I? I knew I wouldn't...I just can't separate myself from walling, no matter how much I think I suck. :3 This one, for once, I actually had fun with! Maybe it's because it wasn't a vector that took forever? And maybe because I wanted to try something different for a change. Pure texture goodness. Inspiration came from my dear Oli-chan (sweetdevil) because this is a style that she usually likes to do. I always envy her texture wallpapers. *_* So time for one of my own, and I think I like it [rare for me to say that]...in that respect, I suppose I don't mind how "popular" this is, or if anyone likes it! I'll try better from now on to accept constructive criticism. (mainly from AP...)
I found this PNG at aethereality.net, all nicely extracted for me already, so I figured I should take advantage of it! I haven't used one of those in a while; it was nice not to spend hours extracting for once. XD I fell in love because I knew right away it was a You Higuri! I adore her art style and manga she's written. I then set out to make the wallpaper...first I fooled around with things I normally don't with the scan, like the levels. I don't remember exactly what I did, but I colorized it to be all this tealish-green color, and then I made the contrast really bit so that there were pixel dots everywhere. Yes, I know that's not a very good explanation. ^^; So here's a screencap of what it looked like:

I thought it looked neat like that; made him look more like a statue. But that wasn't good enough, so I duplicated the original a couple more times, did the same, blurred it, and changed the blending effects of the original as well. Um, yeah, so there were 3 layers of the same image, all with different effects. Anyhoo, then I decided to look for some textures to use. :3 I'll put the ones I used at the bottom. I played around with the blending of them as well, putting them on "lighten," "screen," and "overlay." Erased some away, used more brushwork...smudged things here and there, and then I came up with the text, which I like as well. I wanted to give a kind of heavenly renaissance feel to this wallpaper. XD Very Renaissance-like...I think.
So yeah, I hope you like it. Comments are very much welcome; if you find something you dislike with my wallpaper, then please tell me how I might remedy it. Thanks! This took about 3-4 hours.
