The one you see laying down is Kyo, and the girl holding him is Kaira, his love interest. Basically, he's expressing his love for Kaira after fighting to save her life. ^^ He's hurt, but Kaira makes him feel better.
And Kaira loves him too, but she feels bad that he got hurt for her. ^^ It's basically the moment they realize how much they mean to eachother.
