Japanese Kimono w/ American Flag Print
Mermaid - Japan and NY are both coastal places, New York being on a coast and Japan being an archipelago. Both rely on a good fish market, therefore the mascot has properties of a Japanese Koi Fish.
Statue of Liberty's crown
Tencho Koi Fish w/ Big Apple on it's head, also represents the Japanese flag.
Koi Fish represents small Japan while the mermaid represents the larger USA.
Halloween stuff - Well, it's an otherworldly creature, a mermaid rather than just a human. The tail has black and Orange on it. Halloween doesn't have to be something scary or traditional, it's meant to be fun and creative, where little girls can be princesses and little boys can be superheroes.
