This is my redesign of the comic book superhero Haunt by Todd Mcfarlane and Robert Kirkman. I feel sad that I am the only one in my group of friends that is more into comic books then anime so people I talk to don't know about this Haunt character. Its about a priest who bonds with the ghost of his secret agent brother. It is a violent comic book.
For my version of Haunt, I tried to address many of the criticism of the original design. I tried to stay away from making Haunt looking like spider-man by giving him features that are found in Japanese folktale ghost (ex. Like in horror movies like the Grudge or the Ring). These ghosts have physical characteristics of long dark hair, being pale white, and wearing a long white cloth or robe with no feet displaying. I also added a more demonic face with sleek bat like wings created from his ectoplasm. I kept this chest logo, overall color scheme, and the powers over his ectoplasm as to not totally disregard the original character. I made the ectoplasm it self have a more fluid/tentacle feel to them to further address the “spider-man web,” look of the original design. He is still able to form it to any weapon he wants like the original Haunt does. Overall, I gave him a more demon/ghost look that would less like Spider-man yet still fit the art styles of Todd Mcfarlane or Greg Capullo.
