This is my current pokemon team on Black version, just after the first gym, so they're all still low level.

We've got Blitzkrieg the Blitzle, Talon the shiny Rufflet, Terry the Lillipup, Kanda the Snivy, and Joshua the shiny Mew.

Haven't picked that last member of my team yet, and I don't know if Blitzkrieg and Terry are going to stay on my team or not, but there you go.

If it isn't obvious, yes, I cheated to get Joshua. I put in a code that allows level 3 mew to show up on route 1, but his stats and moveset haven't been tampered with.

I have no reason other than mew is my favorite pokemon and it is impossible to get. I've always always wanted a shiny mew.

I used a code to make the rufflet and mew shiny, mainly because I love blue, and both are blue in their shiny forms (well, braviary is anyway). I really only cheat for shiny pokemon if I prefer the new colors, otherwise I leave them as is.

I also only cheat if I've already beaten the game, which I have. My white version has no codes on it at all, so for those who are all "GRRR You CHEATER!" well...
