So here's Guy as Mata's tribute for the Hunger Games mini event.
I ran out of time to really refine this to my liking. But lesson learned I suppose.
Matahari is supposed to be textiles, so I knew I wanted to use lots of layers and cloth. I ended up looking up a number of Persian clothing at first and modeling the initial sketches off that. The little patterns I drew, however, ended up Journey inspired. As did the color scheme. It seemed to fit with what I needed.
In addition to the patterns drawn by hand, I really wanted the fabric itself to be littered in intricate designs. I originally intended to use more, but honestly I fell in love with this specific one and stuck it out. I think it was a good choice to avoid too much clutter. Although there is still a watercolor texture underneath.
Hopefully my derp makes it a little ways in. He's not very well equipped for survival (unless you count the silly game I threw him in once where he managed to out run any enemy that tried to kill him. That was hilarious.)
