Hi everyone!
I'm so happy that I am posting my works again :)
What is it now? It's been like more than a month since I had last post? -_-
Anyway this is for you Mr Apples!
You requested me to draw Shiina and here she is.
I am so sorry for the long wait but I really didn't want to give this to you until I am happy with it myself.
It took me three tries to draw her. The first two times I winged it by going head on like I normally would with any portrait drawings, but the results weren't great and I wasn't able to get her facial expression right. So for the third try, I used the grid technique. You could still see a bit of the grid in the background. I decided to leave it because it went well with the drawing ^^
So I printed a 5 inch by 4 inch pic of her and laid out a half inch grid on her. Then on a 10 inch by 8 inch paper, I measured and lay out an inch grid on it. Then I transferred the image of the half inch grid onto the inch grid. So pretty much whatever I see in the half inch box I would draw/transfer it onto the paper with the one inch box. The two separate grids would have the same amount of boxes. You follow? Sorry if I lost you there....
Anyway, it was really fun working on her portrait.
I know that this barely look like her, but no matter how long I worked on each of her features or her whole face, i can't get it right. i still have a lot to learn and to think that i am doing alright...*sighes....
But I enjoyed the challenge!
Like any others that I had worked on, I learned a few new things about drawing portraits.
I hope you like this Mr Apples ;)
Thank you so much for your patience!
Done in 8b, 6b, 3b and mechanical pencil. Also kneaded erasers and a ruler.
