The famous sword in the stone. In the original stories the sword in the stone and Excalibur are two different swords since Excalibur was given to Arthur by the Lady in the Lake after the sword in the stone shattered in battle. However, I'm a huge fan of BBC's version of Merlin, in which both swords are one and the same.
On one side of the sword is the inscription "Take me up" and on the other side, "Cast me away"
