This was sort of an accidental redraw on my part. I was in the mood to draw Tobi and then my sister pointed out that my recent drawing of him kind of looked like a pen doodle I did last year, and thus the accidental redraw happened. XD

Putting the two side by side is kind of neat. In the original pen doodle, I wasn’t really putting to much thought in the composition. I just kind of drew it. I tried my best to make his face in proportion, but I did screw some things up like the chin and mouth area. I tried to fix it too. During this time, I was still kind of clueless to some things like keeping things symmetrical and proportional.

In the redraw I have have some better knowledge of things, and I actually put some thought into my composition. I really didn’t want to make a boring portrait, so I used some references to to give me an idea of what Tobi might be doing. I used a reference for his pose, so that way it wouldn’t be just him awkwardly standing there like in the original. I really tried my best to push myself with the background too. There are some things I’m still not to happy with but over all this was a little fun project to do!
