Here's a bit of author's commentary for you. The toughest thing about Survival Instincts was making up Naomi's religion. I feel really uncomfortable fabricating a deity. So I used Earth. So far, my descriptions of the Children of Terra and their customs have been very vague. Oddly enough, a young person with powers belonging to a religion that forbade magic was the first piece of the story that I came up with.

That last panel was a TOTAL cop-out, by the way.
