Part 19
“I’m home,” Light said to himself.
He looked around at the familiar, but unfamiliar place that he had finally made it back to after so long of being away. After standing there for a few seconds he ran upstairs to his room to find what to wear.
After going though his things he decided to settle on a black shirt with a silver tie loosely tied and a pair of dark slacks.
“How do I look?” He asked Ryuk.
“Apples,” Was Ryuk’s answer, “and you look fine.”
Light quickly went downstairs, got the bag of apples which were in the kitchen and came back up to his room.
“Here is your payment… Apples. Now stay away tonight.” Light gave them to Ryuk.
“Got it…” Ryuk replies biting into an apple.
“Alright I am off.” Light sprayed some cologne on grabbed his coat and ran downstairs.
“Damn, I am going to be late if I do not hurry.” Light started quickly off towards Oki’s house now, keeping an eye on his watch at the same time.
With him running slightly late only meant that he was giving Oki more time to get ready, still he did not want to be too late. Light pulled out his phone and dialed Oki’s number, only to realize that she was not answering her phone. Light dialed her number again and again.
“Why is she not answering?” Light said to himself. “What if something happened? What if Oki collapsed…” Light picked up his pace. “Stop it… If something happened Ammy would have came for me. I have to think positive, everything is fine. Oki is just getting ready is all and she did not hear her phone.”
Light’s heart raced as the thought of what might be going on with Oki. Even with him trying to convince himself everything was fine. Light’s heart still would not stop racing.
Finally, he made it to Oki’s as he knocked at the door. After a few seconds Light franticly thought. “It is taking her too long what is wrong?”
Light looked down taking Oki’s door key out of his pocket. While he was looking down, Oki opened the door. She stood there, wearing a dark blue mid-length, silk, strapped dress. It had a long cut on the side which revealed her leg. She completed the outfit with a pair of dark blue strapped heels and a simple plain silver necklace.
Light began to look up at Oki. He couldn’t help the way the dressed revealed her figure.
“Wow,” Light let out.
He had a knot in this throat, he couldn’t get his words out, and he was left speechless by Oki. She looked stunning and even though she had not been with him that long, Light realized once more how he had fallen very hard for her.
“I hope your idea for the night was not to stand here all night? If that is so I rather you have arranged a wheelchair for me.”
Oki started to rest against the door frame. She felt rather faint, she couldn’t stand any longer, her legs felt numb and her head started to spin.
“Why a wheelchair, when I have arms,” Light took Oki in his arms and lifted her up.
“I see you have everything you need.” Light looked at Oki and closed the house door. Oki wrapped her arms around Light’s neck and looked at him.
“Aren’t I a bit heavy for you?” Oki asked.
Light looked at her and responded, “Never and it’s not like we are going far.” Light smiled at Oki and looked on ahead as he walked.
Oki could feel her heart pulsate, and the temperature rise in her body as Light held her gently, but securely in his arms. Her feelings for Light had only gotten stronger since the day she realized she loved him.
She began to remember the day which she first saw him sitting on the bench with Ryuk, being all calm and collective. She remembered how she had watched him change in front of her, as she observed the way he had started to become more affectionate to her.
Lost in her thoughts she did not notice that they had reached their destination until Light asked. “Are you alright to be put down?” Oki looked into Lights eyes as she smiled.
“I see you are getting comfortable here in my arms,” Light said to Oki.
Oki blushed slightly and looked down. Light put her down as her body slide down his. Light held her close to him making sure she was stable and ready to be let go of.
“Why are we at the park, Light?” Oki questioned, “And where is everyone? I have never seen the park so quiet. Even this late at night there are still some people around.”
“You forget who my father is. I asked him to set this up for us so we could be alone.” Light told her.
“You had your father close the park for us?” Oki asks astonished.
“A simple task for him.” Light replied.
Oki looked out across the deserted park still shocked that Light’s father had this done for him.
“Close your eyes tight and I’ll take you to our destination my lady. It’s a surprise after all, and I do not want it to be spoiled.” Light said with a warming smile on his face.
Light wrapped his arms around Oki’s waist from behind as she closed her eyes. She could feel the warmth of Light’s body next to hers as he stood close behind her holding her in his arms. His heart beat a steady and strong beat.
“I could get used to this,” Oki said to Light.
Light chuckled softly, “Good because I am not sure if I want to let go of you.”
Light kissed her bare shoulder as he heard Oki giggle.
“You had better not be looking.” Light said to Oki as they walked towards the place.
“I’m not…” Oki reassured him.
After a few more seconds Light announced, “Alright, you can open them.”
Oki opened her eyes to see that she was farther in the park. Her eyes were then drawn to a gazebo that was surrounded by water. Floating candles surrounded it as the flicker of the flames danced on the surface of the water.
Light took her hand leading her down the walkway toward the gazebo. As they drew closer she could see a table and chairs with silver candles adorning them. The area glowed with the candles' light.
Oki stopped in the middle of the walkway as she took in the elaborate setting.
“Shall we?” Light led Oki the rest of the way to the table. He pulled out the chair for her tucking her in as she sat down.
The gazebo was covered in small fairy lights. The table covered in the most posh white cloth, the cutlery looked as if it was made from real silver and the plates were white with a silver trim around them.
Oki watched Light as he sat down across from her the candle light flickered in his eyes. Just then, Oki was pulled from her bliss when a voice asks.
“Starters, Sir-- Madam?”
A waiter stood between Oki and Light, “We have salad with a vinegar dressing,” the waiter removed Oki and Light’s plates and placed starters in front of them.
The salad was colorful, filled with ripped up green lettuce and red cabbage, scattered sweet corn, bright green leaves of rocket, the ripest tomato, garnished with a scatter of coriander and bread croutons.
“Wow, this looks amazing,” Oki said in shock. “You set this up all by yourself?” Oki was proud at what Light had done for her, she felt so special that she could not describe the feeling she had within her.
She started to pick at her starter, and ate a piece of lettuce.
“I still can’t believe you have gone through so much effort for me,” Oki said.
“Anything for you, I just want you to know how much you mean to me.” Light replied back to her, they continued finishing up their starter until the waiter arrived.
“Master Light, we have a grand dish of Sukiyaki* here for you,” The waiter cleared the table and placed the hot pot dish in front of Light and Oki. Oki shocked at the amount of food that was there.
“How did you…”
“Stop asking questions and eat, it all for us,” Light interrupted Oki.
Oki looked at the food and pick up a piece of meat, dipping it in to the raw egg and ate it.
“Wow this is so good!”
Light watched Oki while she ate. He was so amazed how happy all this had made her and the effort she made for the dinner date and he was constantly thinking how gorgeous she looked.
“Are you going to eat?” Oki asked Light.
“I am!” Light told her with a grand smile as he started to eat.
---
Light and Oki had finished the main course as the waiter passed by to collect their plates and remains of Sukiyaki. As quickly as he had whisked away their plates, the waiter presented the couple with two slices of finely prepared chocolate cake topped with whipped cream and a cherry.
Oki could feel her mouth watering from looking at the chocolate cake and cream. However, she was only able to eat half of her dessert. She then sat watching Light eat the rest of his.
“Is there something wrong Oki?” Light asks her after a few minutes.
“No… Everything is great.” Oki told him with a smile.
Light took his last bite as he heard Oki say.
“I cannot believe you did all this for us! This is truly a night I will never forget.” Light looked at Oki with a huge smile on his face. He stood up from the table offering his hand to Oki.
“Follow me,” Light said to Oki, “The night is not over yet.”
Oki got from her seat as Light wrapped his arm around Oki’s waist to help her walk. He then took Oki for a short walk in the moonlight. Oki started to become tired as Light picked her up in his arms and walked to where there was a blanket on the grass surrounded by candles.
“Light, this is amazing,” Oki said as Light laid her down on the blanket.
He arranged her dress so that her legs were covered and then laid down next to her.
“Why did you do all this, Light?” Oki asks.
Light brushed Oki’s hair behind her neck as he gently kissed it. She heard him whisper in her ear.
“Because I love you Oki,”
His hand caressed her face, down her neck past her chest coming to its final resting place on her abdomen. He looked at Oki, eye to eye and kissed her lips tenderly. He slowly eased himself closer to her, and kissed her again, Oki now completely lost in the moment. She knew this was the perfect moment, the perfect moment for sheer bliss.
“Light, I love you,” Oki said to him and held him tightly as he kissed her neck. His hand then trailed to her leg, caressing it ever so slowly that goose bumps appeared on Oki’s skin.
“Light…” Oki started to gasp, every touch Light placed on her body made her heart jump.
“I want you Oki… I need you. And I want to show you how far our love can take us.”
Light’s hand reach under her dress, gently caressing her skin beneath.
“Light…” Oki whispered into the silence surrounding them.
