The contest theme was 'beginning'. The ones who read VK manga up to the latest chapters know what beginning this scene represents.

I vectored this manga scan & I got inspired by this Soul Eater scene for the bg.
The hardest part were perhaps the outlines, since their visibility is low, that's why I messed up at Yuuki's hair and forgot to make Kaname's fingers... I had to zoom at 405% to see where I was going with the pentool.
The bg wasn't so hard, I had my fun painting the sky.
