Okay, here's my second new Gurren Lagann wallpaper. This one, obviously, features Nia. I found her to be an interesting character, not to mention a good love interest for Simon. And of course I, like many others, watched the second half of the series, eagerly waiting for the final climax when Simon would rescue Nia from the anti-spirals. So I have one little question to ask you all.

WHY THE *BLEEP* DID THEY KILL HER OFF?!!!

I mean, there was absolutely no reason to kill her off. Sure they killed off a whole bunch of other good characters too, but there were reasons why they bought the farm. Kamina was killed off so that Simon could become his own man and take over as leader. As for most of the other characters who died, it's not a very realistic war if every character you like survives. But there was no reason why they had to kill off Nia, at least not a very good one. In the series, they said that she died because she was a creation of the anti-spirals, and thus could not exist with them destroyed. To me, that's a very poor reason. The writers could've done better.

So back when I was watching this series on the SyFy channel, I was planning to buy it on DVD. Then they killed Nia off, and I was no longer very enthusiastic about getting it. I mean I've watched it a few times when the SyFy channel reran it, but that was about it. Killing Nia off is the biggest rip-off I've seen in a fictional story to date. I have yet to see anything bigger. Anyway, sorry for the little rant. Enjoy the wallpaper.
