This...is a very silly wallpaper. It features one of my best friends, Mari, exploring space on the back of her magical, somehow-breathing-in-space cat Pisicot. It's a gift for her birthday, which is today c: I recommend the 1920 x 1080 version, since that's the closest to the resolution I was working on; the others are scaled and/or have elements moved around. For higher resolutions, see Corner of Art.
Been pondering over this idea for a few days but finally got to work yesterday at around 2 a.m., whipping up a quick sketch, scanning it and vectoring it in Photoshop. Guess I'm the most productive at 2 a.m., lol. It only took about 4-5 hours to make, which is a far cry from the months it usually takes me to get off my ass and finish a project.
I think the most difficult part was the cat. I used this image as a reference for the pose, but the tricky part was making her look like the huge fluffy cloud she is, so I ended up painting her fur. Seeing as Mari is a crazy cat lady herself, she's sent me quite a lot of photos of her cat, so I had lots of references for the fur patterns :P For instance, here's a particularly humiliating photo shoot from a buzz cut a few summers ago: humiliation! (Un)fortunately, that side isn't visible in this wall.
Mari, on the other hand, is basically a brown-haired, goggles-less, spacey version of Penelope Pitstop, lmao.
