Verse 3:

Once everyone was finished eating, Dia explained the sleeping arrangements: Rin and Meiko in the cabin across from her, Kaito and Gakupo next to Mattie and Nate’s cabin, and Len – who for some reason is severely claustrophobic – would be sleeping on the deck.

“Now that that’s settled... You guys get t’ bed. We have a long trip ahead’a us, ‘n yer gonna need all the sleep ya can get.” Dia collected the plates as any good hostess would, but she passed them off to Len. “You, on the other hand, are in charge of clean-up tonight. That’s part’a my deal. Ah yes, there’re some rules y’all should know.” She held up three fingers. “Rule One: Pull ya own weight. Two: protect yer friends, women and children. Three: We party from dusk ‘till dawn on a full moon.” Her booming laugh echoed throughout the small galley. “’N guess what tomorrow is??"

Len groaned, he had really hoped to get to bed. But I guess that wasn’t an option yet. What had Kaito done? Surely there could have been another ship we could have taken.

Little did he know that if they had gone on one of the other ships, it would have been a miracle if they made it to the Eastern Continent alive.
