Wanna see an image I made on this day 20 years ago?
I think my thought process behind it was that I was drawing my kitsune alias (before she had a story of her own) singing into a microphone, because I was listening to music at the time. Once I was done with that, I had a lot of extra space left, so... I drew my very first picture of Jon Bon Jovi.
This is what opened the floodgates. I didn't quite know what anatomy was at the time, but I feel that drawing JBJ and the band over and over helped me a bit. I was really experimenting with styles at the time, and I think the band helped me find my "voice", in more ways than one.
So, here's to Jon, Richie, David, Tico, and Hugh for helping to shape me into what I am today. Love you guys.
Ladies and gentlemen and everyone in between, I present to you my first-ever drawing of my character, Keba.
I know I talked a lot about Keba's origin as an Inuyasha fan character. Her purpose in life was originally to annoy the heck out of Inuyasha and, well, annoy the heck out of just about everyone else. (Just wait until I post the picture of her trying to run Jaken over with a car.) Needless to say, she has evolved a great deal, but she's taken many, many different forms along the way. And I don't mean that in a shape-shifting fox demon kind of way.
This was dated 1-23-02 so this drawing is nearly 15 years old. @_@ Dang, that feels like a long time ago.
You might notice some writing on the back of the picture. I entered it into an art contest that my high school anime club was hosting. Didn't win, though. Too bad; I don't think they hosted any more art contests while I was there.
This is my first ever "anime" drawing. It was drawn circa '00 or '01. I think it was supposed to be me if I was a Pokemon trainer. Or something. Note the really off proportions and the over-exaggerated eyes.
