Chibi Revenge

Double Trouble

There was a shocked silence as the past and present Kai stared at each other before both of them swayed wearily and collapsed, out cold. Max was the first to speak.
'Please Tyson, tell me this wasn't your fault!' he accused, still pressed against the wall and trying to work out what had actually happened.

Tyson was saved from answering by Rei who groaned as he tried to sit up. Kenny and Max hurried over to him concerned. Tyson stayed where he was, in shock, trying to figure out what had gone wrong.
'Rei, are you okay?' gasped Max. Wincing, Rei gently lifted his top to reveal an ugly looking bruise already forming on his pale skin. His arm was bleeding where he had cut it on broken glass during his fall.
'I think I broke some ribs.' He gasped painfully. Kenny frowned.
'We'd better get you to the hospital, quick. I'll go and call Mr. Dickinson.' He said before hurrying out of the room with Dizzy tucked under one arm.

Max turned to Tyson who was standing by the two unconscious boys, sprawled on the floor. He was staring at them with a completely dumbfounded expression on his face.
'They're…They're both Kai…I don't understand!' He wailed. Max brought him back to earth.
'Come on Tyson. We can look after them in a second. First lets get Rei somewhere more comfortable.' He turned back to Rei. 'Can you stand?' He asked. Wincing, Rei pushed himself up until he was standing against the wall, breathing heavily.

'I think so.' He answered. Carefully he pushed himself away from the wall and stood by himself, swaying slightly. His face paled visibly as soon as he tried to take a step and he would have crashed back to the ground if Max hadn't caught him.
'Thanks.' He gasped. 'Maybe I'm gonna need some help after all!' he smiled grimly.

Slowly but surely, with the help of Max and Tyson, Rei eventually made it to the sitting room where he collapsed gratefully onto the soft sofa. Just then, Kenny returned from calling Mr. Dickinson.
'Mr. D. said he would be here in less than ten minutes, so all we can do now is wait.' He said to the other's questioning glances.

He noticed Rei's bleeding arm.
'Here, Rei, I'd better bandage this up while we're waiting. Tyson and Max, you should probably bring Kai and…uh…the younger version somewhere more comfortable.' Tyson and Max nodded and returned to the kitchen.
'We can put them in the double bedroom. We'll have to carry Kai together but I can easily manage the kid on my own.' Stated Max in a business like manner. Tyson simply nodded, surveying the devastated kitchen in dismay as Max picked up the small boy and carried him out.

Tyson went over to Kai, who was still unconscious. He knelt down beside the still form.
'I'm sorry Kai. I didn't know anything like this would happen.' He whispered forlornly. His lonely thoughts were interrupted by Max's return and he was galvanised into action. Together they lifted Kai and carried him carefully to the bedroom, placing him gently on the bed.

Then, they both stood back and stared at the two almost identical forms.
'I don't know how on earth you did it, Tyson, but this sure is amazing.' Whispered Max in awe. Tyson shuffled uncomfortably.

'We should go and see how Rei is getting on.' He said, moving towards the door. To his relief, Max followed him, if reluctantly.

In the sitting room, Kenny was just finishing off the bandage on Rei's arm. He tied it off in a neat knot and stood up as the other two came in.

'How's Kai doing?' He asked. Max answered him.
'He's fine…They're both fine apart from being unconscious. Kenny, They're both Kai. One younger and one older. How is that possible?'

All eyes turned to Tyson, the unspoken culprit. Tyson shifted uncomfortably and Kenny came to his rescue.
'When Mr. Dickinson gets here we can't all go with him to the hospital. Some of us need to stay here and keep an eye on Kai. Max I think you should go with Rei. I'm going to stay here and have a look at the video I got. I want to see if I can work out how this happened. Tyson, we all know that you did this somehow so I think it's only fair that you stay here and start tidying up the kitchen.' Tyson stared glumly at his feet before frowning as if he had just realised something.

'Hey.' He said. 'How did you guys all know it was me?' The others looked at each other and grinned.
'It could have been the sneaky look on your face.' Said Max thoughtfully.
'No, No. It was the evil grin!' added Rei with an evil grin of his own!
'How could it possibly have been anyone else Tyson?' finished Kenny with a laugh. Tyson grinned ruefully.
'I guess I was a bit obvious wasn't I?' He said. They all laughed, then Rei groaned painfully.
'Ooh, guys, don't make me laugh, please.' He gasped. Then the doorbell rang and Max ran off to answer it.
'Sorry Rei.' Said Kenny sympathetically. 'You'll be better soon. Hopefully we can sort out Kai as well by then.' Rei nodded weakly.
'I hope so.'
Then Mr. Dickinson walked in with Max hurrying behind him. Mr. Dickinson rushed straight over to Rei as soon as he saw him.

'Are you all right Rei? How on Earth did this happen? Oh dear, I came as soon as I got the call.' He said in a rush. Rei looked around at the others before smiling reassuringly at Mr. Dickinson.
'I'll be fine Mr. Dickinson. It was just…an accident. It doesn't hurt too much. Don't worry.' He lied. Mr Dickinson gave him a suspicious look before smiling back and saying,

'Well then young man, we'd better get you to the hospital before any more accidents occur!' He turned back to Max and behind his back Rei sagged with relief. Thankful that he didn't have to answer any more questions. After making brief arrangements to come and see Rei at the hospital later, Max and Tyson helped Rei to his feet and out to the car. Max and Mr. Dickinson got in after him and the car drove away.

When Tyson returned to the sitting room Kenny was already staring at Dizzy's screen. Tyson walked over and sat next to him, peering over his shoulder at the unfolding events on the screen.

He winced as Rei got thrown against the wall, hearing once again the audible crack. He looked closer at the light emanating from Kai's body. It looked like he was in agony simply from having that figure pulled out of him.
'What did you do Tyson?' asked Kenny curiously. Tyson hesitated a moment before revealing the truth as quickly as he could say it. When he had finished the story he felt relieved as some of the guilt lifted from him and he sank back on the couch with a sigh. Kenny turned to him with a slightly disbelieving face.

'Tyson? Did you actually consider giving Kai drugs? Truthfully?' Tyson nodded, confused.
'YOU ARE SUCH AN IDIOT TYSON! If you weren't so bloody stupid then I wouldn't believe you. Really Tyson. Have you no idea?' Tyson jumped up looking outraged.

'WHAAAT? I AM NOT STUPID!!!' From behind the cover of his fringe Kenny rolled his eyes.
'Go and clean up the kitchen Tyson. Please?' Tyson stuck out his tongue at Kenny before running off to start rebuilding the kitchen.
