How could I convince her without exposing myself? I shouldn't act like Donovan. He's too nice, too easy to be around. Even now his arms were partially extended to help this girl. Surely, through my thoughts, he would see the danger. And he did. He slightly leaned away with a deformed look on his face.

From his stillness, I could tell that he wasn't breathing either. The smell of the blood rushing through the human's veins burned his throat, too.

Donovan grimaced a second later. He tried to hide his pain politely.

That was his problem, he was too polite to everyone that he shouldn't be polite to. Which would mean I would have to be the bad guy.

He tried to disregard my thoughts, but couldn't help his face's distortion. I slightly winced at his internal pain before I spoke to the girl.
