"Are you blind?" I asked rudely in an annoyed voice. "You don't just walk into an open lot. Stupid teenager."
Her parted lips fell further, revealing the rest of her mouth. Some air blew from it, inaudible to her ears. Quickly recovering, the eyebrows above her ocean eyes puckered in an angry motion. I raised one of mine, inviting in her repulsion.
Her mouth clamped closed in frustration. The girl scrambled to her feet in ungraceful and clumsy movements. Donovan yanked her up by her sleeve--which he shouldn't have done. The coldness of our skin is revolting to humans--though, judging by her revealing shorts, flat shoes instead of boots, and no jacket appearance, she didn't mind the cold much. Donovan speculated with me.
But, while I was thinking of this, I hadn't noticed her objective. She was now creeping closer to my face that has black, thirsty eyes. Bad idea on her part. I could lose control all too easily. A shudder past through my body at the thought.
I quickly--as fast as a human can go, since there were witnesses--scooted around her. My attitude seemed to provoke hers, but I had to warn her somehow. She needed boundaries.
"You're an idiot, don't do that crap," I muttered bitterly, pacing to my first class.
