After a long time procrastinating, I finally threw myself into the rabbit hole of the Fate Series.

Fate has always been present throughout several stages of my life, but not once did I find myself inclined to dive into this world full of historical figures who serve as Servants to Mages that control them, known as Masters. The idea itself sounded intriguing enough though it would take a whole couple of years since its first anime adaptation for me to even watch them. And probably a good thing, too!
When I was first introduced to Fate, I found it tucked into a folder in my uncle's old computer. Opening it I saw Saber and Shirou fighting but the story did not captivate me. I was more into the romance, slice of life, magical, and shounen side of things. Not this serious back and forth jaber that my mind couldn't comprehend back then; However, that red hair protagonist and his dutifully loyal knight would remain engraved in the back of my mind.
I hit play on July. I was feeling the waves of depression and anxieties stronger that month as it was the month my dear grandmother had passed away. Even though it's been over a year, the sadness hasn't left as I believed. I picked up Fate/Stay Night 2006 in remembering those days being in my grandmother house and going to my uncle's room, who used to live with them back then, to watch anime he would leave in a folder for me to watch. Episode 1 started and I was transported back in time for that moment. I also couldn't believe this was what I had procrastinated all this time. I would go through a ray of emotions from scolding Shirou's behavior to cheering on saber, and feeling happy each time Rin would appear in the screen, especially to clean up Shirou's blunders. By the end of it, despite my frustrations towards Shirou, I was content and was curious to know more.
BUT I needed a break from that MC.
Into Fate/Zero, I go!
I read online that it was a prequel to the series. One which Fate fans often recommended to watch last for reasons I'm not sure of aside of it being a consensus among the fans. I decided to against that order and went in anyways as I didn't want to go through another round with Shirou so soon. Plus, I felt it would help me understand things better.
From beginning to end, I was amazed! The way the characters were and how the story was told. It was far better than I expected. What was even more awesome was the fact that the majority of participants were adults, so the tonal shift were darker and the risk levels were slightly higher! It instantly made a fan out of me! The dynamics to the motives were fascinating! The emotions, God...I cried quite a lot. I was moved. By the end of it, it was like biding farewell to a friend and I decided this was the determining point to finish the Stay Night routes and anything else that came with the Fate universe.
It's now August and I'm happy to report that I competed UBW, Heaven's Feel, Apocrypha, and (my 2nd favorite) Case Files Lord El-Melloi II!
Currently I'm going through Fate/Strange Fake and hope to tackle the rest I've yet to watch which are the (hesitant) Kaleid, (anticipating) Grand Order and the other long list that are also Fate which I can't recall.
