Hello and welcome to Keba's Anime and Manga Place (KAAMP for short)! Here at KAAMP, I write about anime and manga that I have seen/read as well as my views on them. I'll also post about my original stories from time to time.
Just beware that some of my posts contain spoilers. I'll put them in spoiler tags just in case.
KAAMP's history: KAAMP was created in July 2002 by yours truly. It was a sloppy-looking website on Yahoo's now defunct Geocities. I posted my anime fan art on that site. Also, for a time, I posted my thoughts on the few anime series that I had seen. Now that I look back on it, my thoughts were rather ill-informed (is that even a word?) because I had only seen bits and pieces of anime dubs. Now that I've seen more series, I think that my commentary on various anime will be a little better than before.
So, come on in and stay awhile! KAAMP is now in session.
Have you noticed that there are a ton of anime series that feature a cat sidekick? Or at least a cat that just makes a random appearance?
So, how many anime cats can you list? What are your favorites?
Why am I tuning every sentence into a question?
This isn't exactly anime/manga related, but since no one's helping me on DevaintART, I thought I might as well post this here.
I'm looking for a scanner that can scan 9" x 12" drawings. I've shopped around but it seems that anything with a bigger scanning bed than 8.5" x 11" is pricey and/or ginormous. I've also searched for help online, but it's hard to come by answers. So, I thought I'd ask the largest community of artists I know my fellow otakuites about scanning drawings. So are there any scanners out there that can scan 9" x 12" drawings while not killing either my desk or my credit card?
In my online research, I read some comment like the scanner/drawing paper issue is like how hot dogs come in packages of 10 and hot dog buns come in packages of eight. I thought that was accurate.
I haven't had an anime-themed dream in a long time. In fact, I don't think I've had one since I saw the first "Pokemon" movie. But that all changed last night.
I've recently been watching "Trigun" because I've always wanted to see it in chronological order (I saw the beginning and the end, but not the middle-- stupid high school anime club!). So I was watching it a few nights ago, and I guess it incubated in my brain until I had a dream about it last night.
In this dream, I was witnessing Vash the Stampede in some kind of gun battle. He must have been up against one or more formidable opponents, because he was getting injured. I couldn't exactly see the opponent(s) because the scene was very dark, with only a small amount of red light illuminating the area.
In the midst of all this action, I saw something black crawling across Vash's skin. I knew what it was, being the "Fullmetal Alchemist" fan that I am. Yeah, that's right: Greed the Stampede.
Then I woke up.
Dang, my mind is messed up. *Shot.*
Has anime ever invaded your dreams? Tell me about it.
You guys remember my big ol' rant when I complained about stolen art not getting removed. Well, I think I know why.
I recently saw a thief spamming theO with other people's pictures, and decided to report them. Might as well, just in case, you know? I clicked the "Submit" button and instead of the "thank you" page that pops up afterward, I got a page that looked a little like this:
hi
Nothing fancy. Just "hi".
I had posted a comment on Klassic's blog about how there might have been a bug preventing or reports from getting through, and I PMed Adam with the same suspicion. Now I'm beginning to think that this is actually the case. I'm not 100% certain, though. I'm guessing that the "hi" page is a makeshift page that people get redirected to while the staff at theO work on teasing out the bugs in the reporting system.
If this is true, I will be THRILLED when the problem is finally fixed. In the meantime, I'll be cheering the bug catchers on from the sidelines, and wait patiently until I can report again. I'll be ready.
