Rumour-Chapter 2

I woke up to find myself crying into the sheets; I had dreamt about my little brother, Roby.
The orphanage had taken the shape of the Master's head. Roby had ran toward his head, telling me to follow him. I told him to come back, but it was too late. he walked right into the Master's mouth. The Master grinned so that you could see his teeth. His teeth turned into cage bars of iron. My brother clung to the bars, screaming for me to help him. I don't remember what happened next.
I looked around the room and recalled what had happened the night before. I began crying again, but I made myself stop shortly afterwards. I wiped my tear-streaked face with a corner of my sheet and waled to the window and opened it. I leaned out the window. That's odd, it looks as if I was leaning out of a moving ship. Then I remembered the stairs. From the outside, the shack had only one floor, didn't it?
I ran out of the room and down the stairs. I ran to the door where I had entered last night. I was reaching for the doorknob when I heard someone say " I wouldn't do that if I were you. " I turned around to see a little girl who looked to be about maybe six or seven years old. She had wavy red hair, big green eyes, and was holding a stuffed rabbit toy in her arms like she was giving it a hug.
"Why?"
"'Cause then water will flood in. " She walked away to a room on my right, which I also didn't notice last night.
Deciding that I didn't want to take my chances of drowning, I climbed back up the stairs. How could water come in if the shack was on land? Then again, the shack was on the dock for some reason...Maybe I just didn't see well last night and I was really looking at a ship? I was pretty tired at the time. Instead of heading down the right hallway towards the room, I went down the left hallway towards another set of stairs. Looking up, I sighted a door at the top of the staircase; light was flooding from underneath.
I climbed the stairs and opened the door. Salty wind danced around me as I walked out onto a ship deck, I'm the guessing the starboard-we were never taught about ships back at the orphanage. I thought back to Roby, but I didn't cry, I was done with crying; I'm trying to get used to the fact that he died. It was odd, though, it felt as if he didn't die at all. Maybe I'm just still in shock, but it's too early to tell yet.
I walked over to the railing. There wasn't any land in sight. If I was on a ship all along, then we had set sail hours ago, probably just last night. The question is, why does it look like a shack on the outside and a ship on the inside?
"So you're finally awake?" A white-haired girl stood before me when I turned around. She looked about fifteen or sixteen because of her height, but she could've been older because of her hair colour being the shade of snow. She walked towards my side of the rail and leaned her back against it. "You missed breakfast, y'know. Here." She handed me a garlic bread roll.
"Thank you, " I replied. The bread was so warm and soft as I bit into it. It was the best food I had since the Mistress had died. You're welcome!" She smiled at me. What an adorable smile! Whoa, hold on here, she's just a kid! "So, what, you thank people for food but not for shelter?" Her face went serious. " "Maybe I really should have just left you in the street, cute or not."
Then it hit me-this was Kris! "I'm so sorry! I didn't realize you were her!" I was about to kneel at the ground, but she held my shoulder.
"No! No kneeling." I straightened up again. "You can repay me by helping me. " Her eyes met mine. Can eyes get any larger?! They were an interesting color-icy blue, like a blizzard and a black ring around the pupil...Damn it! Shut up and stop checking out a little kid!
"Sure..." She held out her hand for me to shake, and I did. "Welcome to Prisma Luna! What's your name?"
"What?!"
