Once inside the restaurant Kita’s stomach started to growl. She giggled softly and rest her free hand to her stomach. “I guess I was hungrier than I thought.”
The smell of the food was amazing and Kita could not wait to get her hands on a menu once they were seated. They ordered their drinks and the waitress disappeared to give them time to look.
The restaurant was an all American burger joint, complete with fries, shakes and other fatty, greasy, sugary goodies. Tsukiro ordered a double bacon cheeseburger with a side of seasoned fries and a half and half, strawberry and chocolate shake to go with his drink. Kita smiled at him as he kept ordering. She looked at the waitress and smiled wider.
“That sounds good. Make it two, but instead of fries I want onion rings."
It wasn't long before their orders came. The burgers and fries came in neat red baskets with paper lining. The burgers themselves were so big that Tsukiro couldn't even get both hands around his. The fries were hot and crispy on the outside while being soft on the inside. And the shakes were tall with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Tsukiro would definitely be sleeping off the calories later.
Kita’s eyes were as wide as saucers as she looked at the monster burger in front of her. The onion rings where just as big and they did not skimp on the serving size. She picked up the knife next to her and cut her burger into fours so she could handle the monster better. When she took her first bite it melted in her mouth it was so delicious. She grabbed an onion ring and bit into that. It was just as good. Next she had to sample the shake. First the strawberry then the chocolate. She swore she died and went to a food heaven. They way she acted you would have thought she had not ate in weeks. Though, if the truth was to be known. She had not ate in weeks. Las Noches was not known for its human food. Only hollow’s and souls one could find there to feast on. So this was a treat for her.
Tsukiro laughed, watching Kita put her food away. "Much better than age old Hollow, right?" He asked her as he gnawed into his own burger, conquering it whole.
Kita could only nodded because her mouth was full. When she finally swallowed she announced.
“Its amazing. There is no way any hollow could taste this good. I don’t care how strong they are. Starrk would not even taste this good.” She picked up her shake taking a drink.
Tsukiro laughed. "Starrk would probably taste like dog meat."
Tsukiro shoved a fist full of fries into his mouth and hummed in delight at the taste. It had been a while since he had eaten food like this. He planned to enjoy every morsel of it. Plus maybe order some to go.
Kita laughed at his dog meat comment and kept eating. Finally, she was full. Not much was left of her dinner, but she decided it was too good to leave and she could always make a snake of it later if she got hungry again. She caught the waitress as she walked past and ask for a To-Go box. She nodded slightly and went off to get one for her.
Tsukiro finished all but a quarter of his shake. He ordered another burger and fries for later then sat and waited until the both of them were ready to go.
"All set?"
“Mhm…” Kita said as she stood from the table. She grabbed up her stuffed Kotaishi and her bags. Plus a couple of Tsukiro’s to make them even in the load they carried home.
