Hiiiii!!! ^_^ I've been very inactive lately... T.T I haven't even posted much art lately. DX Except for my entry to Fun-chan's contest. Which I got third place in!!! 8D I'm so happy!!!!!!!!! X3 I really didn't expect to place... XD So that made my day. ^_^
I might go to a Nightwish concert!!!!!!!! :D If my parents say I can. I really really really really really wanna go!!!!!!!!!!!!!! X3
Oh, I extended the deadline for my contest to October 1st, since only one person has submitted their entry. ^_^
Not much interesting stuff has happened lately. -_- I've been going to volleyball tryouts, and I think I have a pretty good chance of making the team. Not varsity (definitely not varsity XD), but probably JV.
School starts in, like... a week and a half. *hyperventilates* Nooooooo!!!! T.T I don't wanna go back to school... that means waking up early and being at school by 7:20 every day, since I joined chorus homeroom. T.T And I still have so much homework to do... T.T
So when does everyone else go back to school?
Oh, we went to this bbq festival thing in the downtown area of my town, and it was so much fun!! They had this bbq competition and then different vendors were selling bbq, and I got a pork bbq sandwich. It was sooooo yummy... X3 And I also bought some pretty jewelry. Three pearl necklaces that were 3 for $10 and this pretty $3 bracelet. One necklace I gave to my Mommom cuz she's not been feeling well lately. T.T Another one I gave to my mom, and I kept the last one for me. X3 And the bracelet I bought from this lady that lives in Mommom's old neighborhood who has this adorable jewelry/purse/other cute things business. So that was fun. ^_^
Today I got a gelato... So yummy... 8D X3 It was espresso flavor. I love coffee flavored stuff. XD So yeah, that was good. ^_^ I also got a pretty new dress for homecoming this year (even though that's a ways away. XD). It was half off the original price, so it was a great deal. ^_^ It's black and white and lacy. So pretty!!! X3
Oh, tomorrow's Mommom's birthday!!! I think she's turning... 66? Maybe. I dunno. XD My mom is making this yummy-sounding seafood casserole thingy, and Mississippi mud cake for dessert. :9 Yum yum yum yum yum.... X3

Sooooooo yeah. I brought my laptop to my school to be repaired. Cuz the hinge is broken. And it was being held up by string. Yes, STRING. DX So, now Mandi is laptop-less. And I have to share this computer with the rest of my family. Oh, the unspeakable horror!!! DX And since my little brother is obsessed with playing online RPGs, I can't get on most of the time. *sigh* So I was lucky to snag this bit of time to post!! But only after my dad had to yell at my brother to let me on. *sigh* Ah well, que sera sera. (I think that's the phrase... *shrugs*)
Tuesday night my swim team had the end of season banquet. That was lotsa fun. :D I wore my mom's dress... and her shoes... The dress is very pretty. It's off white and lacy with a velvet ribon thingy. But her shoes have got to be the most uncomfortable things I have ever worn. They gave me a blister on the tops of my feet... and they're high-heeled. I have great difficulty walking in high heels. Plus, I'm already tall enough. (I'm 15 and 5'9".) Not that being tall is a bad thing, necessarily... *shrugs* But I just don't like wearing high heels. Um... my little brother got a trophy for "unsung hero"!!! Go Justin!!!! *sniff* I'm so proud!!! T^T When he gave him the trophy, the coach said that an unsung hero is someone that you don't really notice when they're there, but you really miss them when they're gone. Go little brother!!! X3
On Wednesday I went over to M-chan's, and we subsequently went over to G-chan's, to watch a movie. We watched Blood and Chocolate, which is about werewolves. I haven't read the book, but according to M-chan the movie is nothing like the book. For example, the movie took place in Romania. The book... took place in Maryland. -_- Other than minor details such as that, it was a very good movie. It's about a werewolf girl who falls in love with a human, and her family doesn't like it. It was very good. ^_^
I tried today to get contacts... and failed miserably. The doctor said that I might have trouble with things getting so close to my eyes because of trauma when I was a child. When I was 5 or 6, some kid at the playground threw sand at my face, and lots of it got in my eyes, so my mom had to come get me and take me to the doctor to wash it all out of my eyes. Strange thing is, I can't remember ANYTHING at all about that. Nothing. I know that the human brain blocks out any memories of traumatic events... so that's probably it. *shrugs* But anyway, the doctor said that's probably why I have issues with contacts.
Um... there's a neighborhood party tomorrow. :D That'll be fun. 'Cept kids have to leave at 7. *sigh* But then I'm babysitting for one of the kids who's leaving anyway. XD Babysitting is my main source of income. *nods* XD I have had no luck in getting a job as of yet... *sigh* So, I'm pretty much broke. I have to mooch off my parents. DX

OH OH OH GUESS WHAT!!! I got a 5 on my AP human geography test and I am soooooo happy!!!!!!!!!! 8D We went out to lunch to celebrate yesterday... It was yummy. X3
Today I got two new books... Fairest by Gail Carson Levine and Masquerade by Melissa de la Cruz. Masquerade in the sequel to Blue Bloods, a story about vampires. ^_^ I love vampires... X3 The vampires are the rich and affluent citizens of New York City. Fairest is about this girl named Aza who's voice is that "fairest in all the land," but that's only one quality prized in her kingdom: the other is beauty, which she doesn't even come close to. But then she becomes the lady-in-waiting to the new queen, and other stuff ensues. "A magic mirror, a charming prince, a jealous queen, palace intrigue, and an injured king twine into a maze that Aza must penetrate to save herself and her beloved kingdom." (from back cover) It sounds really good!! Can't wait to read it!!!! :D

Anyways... haven't posted in a while. -_- I was at the beach this past week and the internet connection there is terrible. *sigh* Speaking of the beach, while we were there, one day we decided to go to the boardwalk for this free concert on the beach. It was a Rod Stewart tribute band. I've never heard of Rod Stewart, but it was fun I liked it. And then we got boardwalk fries (Best. Fries. EVER. ) and then went in the arcade. While we were in there it started raining. My brother had one quarter left and just HAD to play another game. So he chose this one game... and after he put the quarter in, he realized that the game cost a dollar. And it wouldn't give him his quarter back. *facepalm* It was this 5-question trivia game. The last question was about Wuthering Heights... And I got it right for him. And that's cuz... they talk about Wuthering Heights in Eclipse. Thank you, Stephenie Meyer!!! XD Anywho, so after he played that game we saw that it was raining harder, and we decided we'd better get back to the car before it got worse. So there we were, trudging along through torrential downpour to get to our car. And by this point the rain was POURING. We were soaked to the bone. There was also tons of lightning, right above our heads. It was really scary. And I like thunderstorms!! *sigh* Anyway, so, we had to splash through foot-deep puddles to get to the car. We came to the corner of the street, and some guy opened up his store so we could come inside out of the rain. Thank you, Mr. Store Owner Man..! So my mom ran to get the car so she could pull it up in front of the store and we could leave. And once we were in the car, we had to drive the 60 or so blocks home veeeeery slooooowly, cuz if we drove fast then the water on the road would spurt up and blind us. The town we were in is so flat, and the bay is on one side and the ocean on the other. So there's nowhere for the water to run off, so it floods incredibly quickly. I felt so bad for the people we saw on the sidewalks who had to splash their way home through the flood. But once we were home and the storm was starting to subside, it was better. *sigh* Weird thing is, the next morning, there was NO SIGN whatsoever that there had EVER been a storm like that!! 0_o
I went to the library the other day... and got many books!!! I got volumes 1 and 2 of Kamichama Karin. Those characters have got to be the CUTEST little things I have EVER seen!!!!!! X3 And Kazune-kun looks like a girl on the cover of volume 2... X3 I also got this book called the Dead of Night, with four short vampire stories. I finished the first one about a cop named Eve Dallas having to hunt down vampire murders. 'Cept she doesn't believe in vampires. Anyway, I also got The Mist by Stephen King, the Fullmetal Alchemist profiles book, and volumes 1 and 2 of Cirque du Freak.
Unfortunately, they didn't have the summer reading books I need to get... *sigh* I need to read Season of Life, the Grapes of Wrath, and Native Son. And supposedly they're not too fun to read. I also need to order my textbooks for school... and read the first chapter in my AP European history textbook... and do tons of Spanish stuff cuz I'm moving up from regular to honors Spanish next year. *sigh*

I'm currently watching America's Got Talent... there was just this one guy on who was an AMAZING singer. There's currently some girl on who is using a metal grinder and wearing metal plates and shooting sparks. How cool is that?!? XD There were some weird ones, though... 0_o Like a singing fairy...
I have a swim meet tomorrow night. It's at our pool, so we have an ice cream social afterwards!!!! Ice creeeeaaaamm!!!! >w< I hope I swim well... I do freestyle and backstroke. Butterfly is HAARD and I'm not very good at breaststroke... but today at practice my coach said that my breast stroke turn is better than anyone else's because I get a lot of power off of the wall, but that my actual stroke could "use some work." XD Also, I can't dive to save my life. And the other coach said that I have trouble diving down, not out, while most people have trouble diving out instead of down. *sigh* I'm just a weird one, I guess. XD
