Manga and anime are a big part of me. I read and watch a lot. Because of this, I've decided that I like to tell people about the anime I watch and the manga I read. And so spawned this phase of Obsession is My Getaway.

The posts that come in the future will be reccomendations or things that I found interesting in different anime or manga. If you wish, you can read and I'll do my best to stay objective on a personal standard and give you the whats-what of things that I've watched.

Enjoy!

"Honeeey, I'm hooo-ooome!!"

Oi! Hey there!! It sure has been a while. I missed updating on here. :P

The convention was amazing. I got my shoe signed by Vic. And I got two pictures, one of Edward Elric and another of Himura Kenshin as the Battousai. Hmm... I got a Link pin, from LoZ.

I was such a hyper fangirl that day. Whoo buddy.

Aww... I just broke my pencil... *frown*

Well, anyways... I tried to download a MMORPG today, and it took seriously like five hours just to install and then I found out I didn't have the system requirements, so I wasted a lot of time today. I really wanted to play it too... It was called Secret of the Solstice. Cool name, huh? The animation was cool too.

What else... I got a new bed... and I'm going to public high school starting next year. I've never been to public school, so I'm a little anxious, but I'm sure it'll be alright. I've been a private school kid all my life. :P No more Bible class. XD That's alright with me because I've got my own Bible and church. :P So, I'm all good. I'm also excited because they've got an anime club that I'm going to join. :P And a cooking class. I like to cook. And they've got an okay library and I'm hoping they have some manga...

Hmm...I've started to draw again lately. I'm working on a picture of a preist girl. She looks cool. :P I'd scan her and post her, but my scanner is screwed. Excuse the language. XD

Not much else to say. Read, please, if not comment. ^^ *hugs you all and waves goodbye*

Ahhh!! Anime Convention.

Ahh! It's time. The anime convention is here. And I'm flipping out. I don't know why. Maybe it's because it's anime, or because Vic is coming, or because I'm just getting over Mono, but I'm excited. But I'm doodling as I'm typing this and I'm crazy hyper.

I don't know what it is about conventions that make me crazy, but I like it. I'm going tomorrow. All day hopefully. I can't wait.

Other than convention madness, I'm doing slightly better. For those of you who don't know, I had/have Mono. It sucks. I went to the ER last Wednesday and have been out of school for over a week. But I'm feeling lots better. *lying* *whisper* I just want to go to the con. *whisper*

So, yeah, that's my life in a nut-shell right now. *shrugs* I best be going.

The Warrior Poet and the Literary Centurion

Okay, so the title has nothing to do with the actual post, it was just an inside joke, but still, I thought it sounded cool. XD I think it's about time for another post. *says in a British accent* I've been feeling weird lately. Like talk-in-a-British-accent-and-speak-all-funny kind of weird. That and I haven't been in a good enough mood to talk to my sister. Which is weird, cause I like to bug her a lot. XD
Sooo... Lets see... Oh! Mi madre said I could watch Stellvia, an anime DVD that I got for my birthday!! XD So, yesss! That's two!! Ahaha!! Fullmetal and Stellvia!! And I think she might, might let me go to the convention. I don't know about cosplaying, but... *shrugs* Just as long as I can go and see Vic. XD
So, I started working on a manga that I had done a loooong time ago, and I've come back with a new style that lets me be more creative, which is good. But I've realized something. I S-U-C-K suck at coloring. :3 I don't know about you guys, but crayola colored pencils are just not my dig. But I am trying.
So I was playing Fire Emblem the other day, an amazing game, and I got to chapter 17 from chapter 13 in one weekend, which is good for me, cause I hate it when my people die and so I start over. My favorite has to be Mordecai because he has like 50 something health and like eighty bajillion defense, so he's like, invincible. XD
Anyways... Hmm... I was looking up stuff for a history project and it was on the National Archives, so I clicked on the Magna Carta link on Wikipedia. And I looked at the disambiguation [Awesome word!! XD]. There was some Korean game that looked cool called Magna Carta. Anyone heard of it? The main character looked cool. I think his name was Calintz. Lookie, it's him!!

Which is a weird name, but what the heck, they're Korean. XD *is American and knows nothing of Korean names, but has done a project on both Koreas for history* XD
Have I ever mentioned to you how I hate history? I think it's so freaking boring...

Well, I best go work on my project and stuffs. ^^ Later taters.

Major Improvements.

Hiya! ^^ The title isn't referring to my anime hiatus. It's referring to.... I don't know what you'd call it. Let me just explain.

I've never touched a gun before, therefore I've never fired a gun before. Now this gun wasn't really an actual "killing" gun. It was an airsoft gun, but I handled it well, I have to say. My brother let me fire his gun at a tree. XD Actually he made a paper target, nailed it to a tree, and let me fire at it. XD It was pretty fun because his gun is automatic, so a bunch of bb's went out at once! >.< I actually hit the target!!

Anyways... I've not much else to say, I just thought I'd let you know about that. XD

Ooh! We're reading The Giver in out English class. But this week we're making our own utopias! XD We, as a class are creating a utopia. Our class's is called Paradise Place. *shrugged* I liked Jesusville better, but oh well. XD Today we were describing what it looked like and I might post up a picture later once my teacher gives me my drawing back, but my group's idea was cool! It was a collection of islands floating in the sky, connected by plexiglass bridges that were spherical so that you couldn't fall! Each island had a different terrain on it. Like, there was a mountainous/snowy island, a lake island, a forest island and other stuff. We had one island that was an amusement park and one that was a virtual reality place, where you'd get to do whatever you wanted.
The center island was the town, so there were a bunch of houses and there was a fountain in the middle, for everyone to drink out of. Oh, and we had a crop raising/animal grazing island. ^^ I thought it was a cool idea, but I don't know... :3 You tell me.

Well, I best be getting to my Algebra homework... Blehh... XP

Grounded. A Christian Otaku's story. [Even if you're not a Christian, please read.]

Hey there. This is kind of my first stab at this, so don’t kill me if you hate it. To start off this story, let me tell you, I’m a devout Christian, and an anime fan. That’s were this whole story originates.

It all started about two weeks ago. It was my friend’s birthday and I wanted to give her an Envy [from FullMetal Alchemist] figurine, because she’s in love with him. So I bought one online and it came in the mail in its foam peanut heaven.

Envy.

Now I’m sure we all know about Envy and his little miniskirt/halter top get up, and my parents, I’ll admit, were skeptical when they saw it come out of the cardboard box. Now, get this too, my parents are Christians and they believe in keeping your mind away from nonmarital sex, rape, etcetera, etcetera. And, yes, I know what you’re thinking: ‘Oh, that’s everywhere!’ That excuse didn’t help when it came to convincing my parents.

So I gave said figurine to said friend. Her parents naturally thought it was a girl, then freaked out when they found out it was a guy. Her mom threw it away. Isn’t that so dumb? You don’t just throw away someone’s present! That just pissed me off. But back to the subject at hand. Our parents had a little talk when my mom came to pick me up.

So now, said friend and I are having a little anime hiatus. In other words, our parents grounded us from anime until they become “more educated” on it. Which will happen never. Because our parents are too prejudiced to watch any of it and too “busy” to look it up on the internet, which I’m kind of glad for… Sometimes people are dumb on the internet…

Anyways… So this probably means we aren’t going to what would have been the greatest anime convention ever. [Vic Mignogna is coming to Animazement this year.] And we’ll probably never be able to watch anime until we’re eighteen. So for this very reason, I warn you: Don’t give anyone an Envy figurine if you don’t want to get grounded from anime until you’re an adult.

That wasn’t really my point in typing this whole thing. The words Christian and Otaku don’t go to well with people when you talk to them about it out of context. I don’t think that my parents fully understand that there’s more to anime than girls with boobs. What they don’t get is that sometimes in certain circumstances, in certain contexts that need to be viewed, anime isn’t that bad.

I’m only fourteen and I know that I need to make sure that I’m not getting crap loaded into my brain. I’m not that stupid. I can discern what’s good and what’s not. I think for those of you Christian Otakus out there, I know what you’re going through. It is tough, but understand that there are others out there that know what’s going through your head. [Not to sound like a stalker or anything…] So there’s my spiel.
