So, I'm finally semi-caught up with Space Dandy, and I loved episode 5. Uh, I'm not sure if you could call them "spoilers", but I'm using spoiler-text anyway for this (for those who want to be as surprised as possible).
Hello Space Dandy meets Wreck-It Ralph. Space Dandy captures a young, undiscovered alien intending to turn her in for the money. However, as they travel together, he soon changes his mind, giving up the money so that she can go live with her only relative - her grandfather. This episode had its laughs just like any other Space Dandy episode, but it also goes to show that it can be more than just a comedy show, it can have heart, too. This episode did raise the bar on my expectations, because now I know that if they just do comedy, they're being lazy. Heck, it could even have a sweet (yet funny) climax and become a more developed show than I expected this to be. If it does well, then maybe this release-in-America-first thing might not be a hit-and-miss after all.
Also, since I'm here, I might as well ask my audience - would you like to see a review of Deltora Quest (the anime)? I've already seen it all, I just don't know whether reviewing it would give me any turnout. So, what do y'all think?
Plot Summary
Alucard, King of the Vampires, has been used by the Hellsing Organization for years to hunt down other vampires. On a whim, Alucard decides to transform young soldier Seras Victoria into a vampire, after which Hellsing decides to keep her for her vampire-fighting abilities as well. Little do they know that they will soon be thrown into an all-out vampire war...
Story
The plot of Hellsing Ultimate is essentially one huge battle. However, this doesn't hinder the plot at all. Despite having a stronger focus on action and animation, they still manage to have a solid plot to keep us interested throughout.
My only gripe is that sometimes they would have a humorous quip in the middle of an otherwise serious battle, and it can give you tonal whiplash.
8.2
Characters
Nearly all characters have some development of some kind, and each have their own unique stories and personalities to make each memorable. The characters themselves are interesting because they are all so powerful that if they were in any other anime they could be the most powerful character. But when they're all in one anime, it makes the grand-scale-battle even more epic.
8.9
Animation
The animation in Hellsing Ultimate is incredible. Beautiful scenes and dark imagery make the animation absolutely stunning to look at.
However, the animation style will change drastically along with the quip previously mentioned in the Story section, adding to the whiplash.
8.8
Music
There is no opening song, and each ending theme is different, so I'll just mash up all music into a generalization.
The music is amazing. There were moments where the music itself made a scene similar to other shows seem more grand and epic than it has ever been. The wide range of music types ensures that there will be some tracks for all of us to enjoy on their own.
9.1
Overall
Despite some dark and disturbing themes, Hellsing Ultimate has been one huge epic battle few can match. The grand scale of the battle makes it so entertaining that it's an anime one can watch again and again.
Full Moon
8.75
Other
I'm not sure whether it's really cool, or really annoying, how many of the characters are animated with their arms out of their sleeves. Sometimes it'd create a cool effect, sometimes it'd just bug me.
...I. Love. The. Major.
....I also love Alexander Anderson, but I love the Major, too.
Seriously... all of these characters are frighteningly powerful. It's so cool...
Oh, yeah, and if possible, WATCH DUB. All the accents add sooo much to the cool facter, it's not even funny.
...I am everyvere, and yet novere.
There are three ratings for each (new) review:
Overall Quality is an judgement on story, characters, animation and music
Overall Enjoyment is a judgement based purely on enjoyment factor
Recommendation is how much I recommend it, with Full Moon being the highest and New Moon being the lowest.

What did I know beforehand?
Plot summaries, video clips, and that it's being released in the United States first.
Pros
FREAKIN'. HILARIOUS.
Entertaining animation, makes it very fun~
Fun background music adds to the adventure.
Fun characters.
All around an entertaining show.
Cons
A little ecchi-ish for those who don't like it.
It being the first anime to be released in the West rather than in Japan... it's a pretty good show, but I don't think it'll have the success it'll need to encourage more companies to invest in the West just as much (if not more) than in Japan.
Also, random nondescript villain. He could improve, but I don't foresee it happening.
Plot: 7.5
Characters: 6.1
Animation: 8.0
Music: 6.4
Overall: 7.00
Pretty good, but nothing ground-breaking (other than it being released in the West first, of course).
PS:
FREAKIN' ADORABLE ROBOT OH MY GOODNESS CAN I JUST ADOPT HIM
Ah, yes, my top 10 anime. Rules are simple:
10. FLCL
Ah, yes, FLCL, (or Fooly Cooly as it's sometimes called). What can I say about it? It's pure randomness with an actual message. It brings out the weird in you and makes you love it.
9. Dangan Ronpa
If you were to ask me why I like this show so much... I probably won't be able to answer. Maybe it's the opening. Maybe it's the characters. Maybe it's the animation. One thing is for sure: it's mystery, semi-decent development of a large cast and chiller ending make it enough to claim its number 9 spot.
Let it be known that I love anything with religious undertones! This is only the first of many anime on here that religion-related themes. Hellsing Ultimate has so many characters, and they're all so epic, all pitted against each other in one huge battle royale. The development of some characters make them lovable, while some you just love to hate. Add in crazy actions scenes, great animation, and a dark color scheme and you have Hellsing Ultimate.
An incredible soundtrack, a great concept, and an impeccable plot is what makes up Blue Exorcist. They manage to pack so much detail and story in their plot without making it convoluted, develop every character without making lame backstories or forced emotions, and put in great action without it feeling forced or out of place. Add in Yukio, and what else is there to say?
6. Now and Then, Here and There
Now and Then, Here and There is an anime that makes very dark things seem very real. It brings out sensitive topics and make you want to weep with the characters over them. Plus, it has beautiful animation. What more is there to say?
5. Soul Eater
Soul Eater is just fun. It's the kind where you can sit and watch it with your buddies, enjoying the hilarity and solid development of the characters. Unforgettable actions scenes help make this a definite favorite of mine. Not to mention it has Crona. ....*huggles Crona*
4. Death Note
The plot. That is all. ...Okay, that isn't all. Though the plot may be next to perfect, when great characters (esp. Mello and L) and an amazing soundtrack is brought in, this anime has always been one of my favorites. Oh, and don't forget its gothic themes. I love the sheer amount of gothic stylization in this anime.
3. XxxHolic
XxxHolic has everything. Slice of life? Yeah. Dark themes? Yep. Playfulness? Definitely there. Serenity? Yessirree. Horror? A bit. Humor? Oh yeah. Adventure? You can count on it. Tradgedy? Some. Amazing soundtrack? It's in there. Great characters? Plenty. Amazing opening? There. Enjoyable endings? A couple. Awesome-sauce? Absolutely full of it.
2. Black Butler
This anime is my ultimate guilty pleasure. I'll admit it has faults, but it has all the things that I love: Gothic design, dark themes, Victorian setting, hinted yaoi, beautiful tragedy and hot boys.
I'll admit, there have been times when I ask "Does this anime really deserve its spot?" Then I remember what it is... a simple, sad tale about life. Real life. Not something to completely mourn over, no, that wouldn't be realistic. It brings the sadness and happiness and even the craziness of life to the forefront. It's the most real anime I've ever seen. These people aren't characters, they're the type of people you'd see on the street and not thing twice about it. It's just... so simple. I... words cannot describe it. Listen to this and then you'll have a slight idea of what it's like.
