Caption Battle: Sworded Affair...

"It's that time again..."
"To tally up another late caption battle?"
"To get SomeGuy to stop reading TV Tropes and do his work?"
"...all y'all suck..."

Ahem... last week's winners:

In third place, appreciating fine-detail of current-gen media: the real yojimbo!

Yet another reason why HD anime is a bad idea.

In second place, because a good fart joke never gets old... the ever-talented Calaya!

Never pose when letting one off, just in case the wind changes and you get stuck like that.

And in the coveted first place because, frankly, it was just that damn good... Manga Pulse's own Tim the Enchanter!

Hey, wanna see my undescended testicle?

Good job, lots of good captions this week, let's not waste any more time...

This week's screencap comes from the ever-resourceful red tigress who brings us a shot from Hayate no Gotoku ("Hayate the Combat Butler"). The human is Hayate; the tiger is Tama. Do it:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. Alright, I'm done, you can stop badgering me for a week again...

OA: There's Always a Better Place

Hey, it's Friday and you all know what that means. It's time for another Otaku Attraction for the masses!

It's starting to get nippy out, so what better way to beat off the cold than to snuggle up with someone you care about and watch a nice sentimental flick? I think that may be the logic behind the video SangosSorrow sent me, "The Place Promised for Better Days". Combining The Place Promised in Our Early Days the Goo Goo Dolls, this video creates a a semi-peacful look at the series, but there's something about it that stirs up the things inside you. Whether it's hope or just pulling at the heartstrings a bit, I don't know, but it does something to you. Just take a look at it.

As always, send your suggestions to [email protected]. I wouldn't be opposed to those that want to get a jump on Chirstmas videos, either... >.>; Just a thought.

See you next week!

theOtaku.com Anime Podcast V - Ep. 8

Ooh, this week's podcast is a whopping 23 minutes long! Also, we re-learn why it is that most podcasts aren't 23 minutes long... Batou, what the crap were you talking about all show?

Otaku Attraction: Bring It All On

A little late (but hardly ever a dollar short), it's time once again for another Otaku Attraction for the masses!

As always, thanks to you members that make my day by sending in videos for me to review. You spin me 'round, sometimes. Like a record, baby. Haha.

Anyway, this week's video comes to us from Blue-Eyes Girl and features an anime that hasn't actually been on the OA in a while: Trigun. "Let It Make Me Strong" features the song stylings of one Stevin Curtis Chapman (or so I'm told) and tells a bit of a story about how deeply Vash was affected by his relationship with Rem. Aw, touching. Give it a view below.

And that's all she wrote. Remember, send your videos to [email protected] for consideration. See you all next week!

Caption Battle: I'll Pitch, You Catch...

"It's that time again..."
"To kill a wave of Nazi Zombies?"
"To make robots pop out of our foreheads?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, going the (now) classic route that no one else took: darkeangel!

I see dead people...

In second place, actually quoting a well-known showbiz saying that I had quoted earlier in the week: yugi567!

Never work with animals or children.......

And in the coveted first place, being straight-up snickeriffic (yes, that's a real word because I said so)... Miss Anonymous!

This is what happens when it rains men. People die!

This was a pretty good week. Lots of good gems, though there was a lot of repetition too... yes, yes, Edward Cullen is beautiful and girls get retarded when his name/book/anything comes up, we get it. Let's all try a little harder, shall we?

Anyway, on to this week...

This week's screencap comes from Angel Zakuro and features Ookiku Furikabutte ("Big Windup"). The one on the left is Mihashi; the one on the right is Abe. Go for it:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. So y'know, have fun, don't rely too much on "the obvious caption", and go for it.
