To Get into the Elite you must be very active in this club constantly contributing. "Is this what you want Marlex? Me?" RaXi whispered to Marlex. "My embrace, my love, my.... kiss?" I watched as RaXi drew closer yet to Marlex when she said the last part. "If I gave you what you wanted...I would freeze you from the inside out and you would turn to dust and fade away. Your love is suicide...therefore, I can NEVER grant you your wish Marlex. Give up on it...unless you seek death." With that RaXi pulled away quickly from the stunned man.
I watched as RaXi approached us, but she denied herself to look at Xakiah and myself in the eyes. It wasn’t like her. I mean yes RaXi wanted all of us to be tougher and pushed us to be so, but this way wasn’t like her. It had to be due to her joining up with her dark side. Whenever she turned into her Dark side everyone and herself pushed her away. RaXi never was taught to control that side, now that it is a part of her, who said that she could control it. I wonder just what pact she made with her other side.
"We return to Oblivion. The rest is up to the others. We no longer have any part of this folly." RaXi stated as she opening a portal up for us. Xakiah stepped through the portal first followed by RaXi and secretly I actually wanted to say, if just for a moment.
Everyone and everything was changing with everyone I thought I knew, I have even changed, but the only ones that seemed not to have changed was the people I knew here… at Zero. Tanex question ran threw my head again, and I began to wonder what he meant by apprentices. I mean he never mentioned Zero at all. So who all knows of his plan? It made me think of Triskix goal as well, ‘Uniting everyone.’ I wonder if they know of each other’s goals?
Realizing I have been lost in my own thoughts once again, I raised my head to look at the portal in front of me. Clenching my hands I turned back to look at Marlex, "Marlex...just get out alright? Please."
Hanging my head I followed them threw the dark opening, and for once I wished that I were surrounded by light. All I needed now was some good old 3 Days Grace songs and it would all be good! XD
The minute we steeped threw the portal something didn’t feel right, I could tell that RaXi felt it too. Before she could say anything though she fell to her knees in pain holding her head. I tried running to her scared that it had something to do with her other side, but before I could even reach her the same thing happened to me. Crying out I fell down holding my head, as old memories hit me hard.
It was dark everything seemed so dark, but it was okay for some reason I could still see even in the darkest times. Climbing the steep staircase I had to see the angelic moon, if only one last time. Reaching the top I raised my hand out to it, and without me know it, my body seemed to walk on it’s own, toward it. With each entrancing step I reached my hand out further to the bright moon. Something bright seemed to pool out of my hand and into the heart-shaped moon.
Not long after I could hear someone coming up the stairs, I knew I should run but my feet would not move. Death I knew would follow if I choose not to move, but yet something unseen held me down to that spot. I guess if I was to die I wished that it would be here, so maybe the glowing orb would embrace me. I didn’t want to be left alone again.
The seen changed and children were running around. A boy with deep red hair ran by, it seemed that he was the leader of the little pack of boys following behind him. An older girl was chasing after him yelling about something; she carried over grown sword easily over her head threatening the boys. I couldn’t hold back the laughter that broke threw my lips, as I realized that I was the little girl watching the whole thing.
Once again the image faded and changed to another one, but this time I was the one watching the seen unfold. Saix stood in front of a dusty brown hair girl yelling at her to leave. The girl looked around as if trying to find someone familiar to her to run to, but found that no one was around. Saix raised his voice once more in almost a growl for her to leave, but the girl didn’t understand why. She did understand why everyone was leaving, why they were being hunted, why everyone around was fading away, and why it hurt to watch.
“Sensei? But… but I don’t want to. Everyone left I don’t want to as well!”
“I will NOT Repeat myself again! I have no need to; you will listen to ME and THAT Is FINAL! Do you understand?” Saix stated coldly to the crying child.
“Y… yes sensei.” Opening a portal for the child he motioned for her to go threw. “When will you come sensei?” Without saying a word he looked away from the girl and started to close the portal she stood in.
“Sensei... Sensei! I will see you soon, right?… Right?! Sensei say something!… Please!…… Sensei Please Don’t Leave Me Alone! SAIX! SAIIIXXXXX!” The young girl yelled out as the opening that the man made closed, but she wouldn’t leave it like this.
The girl thought of the man as a father then anything else, she had to do something. While she still had the place in her head she quickly made a sloppy portal, that took her not to the exact place again but a little ways away from Saix. The child knew that in her sloppy state if she tried making another portal she would end up farther away, looking up the staircase she began to run up it. She ran up the stairs as fast as her small legs could carry her, she could hear shouts of a battle coming from the top of the stairs.
Tripping only a few times she finally could see the top of it, and heard her teacher’s voice speak. Relief ran threw her at the sound that is until she reached the top and saw the seen in front of her. Staggering back she let out a small gasp that went unnoticed by the group as she saw her teacher, her friend, the one she considered as a father, the first one she trusted, vanish away from her. Leaving her alone, and never seeing his familiar face ever again. Then everything turned black.

"Our last conversation was cut short I'm afraid...but I never expected YOU to come back to ME." The man before me said.
Abruptly a memory came back to me, a memory of the meeting room years ago. The original thirteen were there and their apprentices sat on top of their laps. I remembered it was some kind of silly report of our training. I hardly ever paid attention to the lecturers, because usually I had RaXi with me so I always had something fun to do to past the time. Then before I knew it the meetings were almost done.
Looking around my eyes caught on a small boy. A familiar blonde kid sat on Xemnas’s lap, his bright blue eyes seemed like they laughed as he looked around the area.
"Yes I understand," the Superior said somewhat sharply at the end. "Fine then. This meeting serves no more purpose and will be left at that." The blonde child began to leave with the Superior, but stopped to wave over at Lexian, Triskix, RaXi and me.
"Bye Tris! Bye Lex! Bye Nyx! Bye---" The boy started, but Xemnas put his hand over the kid’s mouth, hushing him.
The child version of me waved happily back to the older kid, and called out to the others say a mutual goodbye to them. “See ya later Xero, Tris, Lexxy!” The next worlds from the past me’s mouth brought back too many memories at once. “Bye Tanny!”
And with that memoires of Tanex started to flow back. Memories of the older brother I never really had, of the times he never raised his voice at me even though he was so mad. He was the one I could always hide behind when RaXi was not there, and the boys chased me around trying to make me the catcher at their baseball games.
Looking up at the man in front of me I still saw the same eye from so long ago. “Tanex? Is that—”
“So I’m guessing that Serix and Jax have failed their assignment that is a disappointment. Now everybody is starting to get their memories back. Happy to see it Nyx, but you know what this implies. Soon you guys will have to see where your loyalties remain. With a man you don’t know a thing about or with the Apprentices.” Walking behind me I could knew that it was wrong, but it felt so comforting being around his presence. It was like a calming aurora.
“I’m your older 'brother' Nyx, don’t you have faith in me? I know after everything happened I left you and everyone else alone, but the necessary preparation needed to be made. Now that they are I wish for you… Tris, Lex, RaXi, Xemmsur, Akane and Deidrex to join my group."
“Tanex… I…” It felt like I was crying and without thinking and without hesitation, I turned on a dime and jumped up to hug the man from my past. He seemed taken back at first but hugged me tightly right back in a moment.
“Tanex—–” I started but was cut off by a weird sound, and abruptly the pinkish glow around the walls vanished. I could feel the child’s power vanish, that was when I realized that Minx’s room was only a few floors above my head.
“Tanex… I… I have to go. I’m so sorry, and I due miss you so much, but RaXi is here and Xakiah are here. I have to check if they are alright, and… and Tanex… I DON’T WANT TO SEE YOU HURT! Please You Must Leave! I can’t stay... I can’t, not now. I’m sorry so sorry, I have to go. Please don’t make me fight you, Tanex. You are my older brother, and I love you from all the things you have done for me but I can’t go. I have to talk with RaXi.” I managed to say that all in one breathe. Crying I quickly let go of him, and pulled away so fast that someone would have thought that his shirt was on fire. “God Tanex I’m so sorry. Please leave the castle now. Pleeeassse.”
I knew that if anyone found out of this I would be in so much trouble. I had to get out of this room, but before I had a chance to run away and hand was on my shoulder and I was turned around. I hoped that he didn’t question me on why he should leave, I have already said too much. To my surprise Tanex stepped back to show a portal that he hid behind him.
“It will lead to RaXi. I understand that you must leave with her, but you better leave quickly… Xerebus is furious. I can tell that you are tired. Talk to RaXi… but soon you all must choose.”
I ran away from my old friend, as if running from my past. I never looked back until I was threw the portal. I saw only bright blue eyes gazing out from underneath the white hood and into the portal before it closed. I could feel RaXi close by, running down the hallway I felt a portal opening. “RaXi!” I called out hoping it would reach her ears before she left. Right now I just wanted to be around a familiar face.

Bracing myself for the impact I saw as Marlex whipped his Gwan-do out at me, and the wind he held back was thrown with such a force that the trees around us snapped and broke. The other man held his hands out and a wave of sharp plants came out and vines wrapped themselves around the barrier. Some of the vines were burned off from the intense light, but they just kept on coming. Then when the wind hit I could feel myself slide back, not in inches, but in feet. When the next wave of wind came I could feel my feet fly out from under me. I remembered hitting the ground with a thud, after that I couldn’t say.

Opening my eyes once more I saw that I was in some kind of field. My head hurt as flashes of some battle entered my head. Holding my head I fell own to my knees crying out, there was so much blood and so much death. Suddenly a flash back of my childhood came back and boy came to mind he had dark brown hair and when he turned to look at me I realized his name….
“Xeros! It was Xeros, Marlex, and… and someone else did this!” I cried out on the ground.
I heard a scream in the distance, and standing to my feet I pushed the pain away and ran to the voice. At the top of the hill I saw the battle, closing my eyes and opening them I realized that it was real. All of the apprentices were there and they all were fighting. Screaming for them to stop, they wouldn’t listen to me at all. That was when I saw Xemmsur get hit hard and thrown across the field. Lexian was bleeding all over and looked so pale, and Triskix was stuck to a tree and there where so many knives sticking out of him.
“N… NNNNOOOOO! Triskix, Xemmsur, Lexian!!!!” Falling to the ground crying I wanted it to go away.
Sobbing I held my head and curled up in a ball muttering to myself that this is all not real. I kept on saying that over and over again, trying to get this out of my head. Then I hear a voice and felt a hand, jumping up I saw RaXi standing there, but I looked like she could fade away from me at any minute.
“RaXi… thi… this is all… all a—”
“Where were you Nyx! We needed you, you wouldn’t fight. Now Look At Us!!! Your Letting us Fade, Nyx! All because you will not fight! We tried infiltrating Zero’s castle look where it got us!”
“RaXi, I’m… This… IT CAN’T BE REAL!” I screamed out falling down again.
“Look around Nyx, does this look fake to you? You didn’t stop Marlex and Xeros. Now we die for Your MISTAKE!” Triskix emerged behind Raxi as he started to fade.
“You just wouldn’t finish the job would you Nyx? Now look at me… I’m fading Nyx! Why wouldn’t you save me?” Xemmsur said walking up closer to me to witness her fading.
“I… I… didn’t mean. Xemmsur everything will be okay. I… I…”
“And How will you do that Nyx! You couldn’t even stop Marlex and Xeros. Admit it you Wanted Us DEAD!” Lexian nearly yelled out at me, hate danced in his dull eyes.
“No Lex! NEVER! How could you say that!” Reaching out to his weak form he slapped my hand away.
“It is your entire fault Nyx! It is your entire fault we are dead!YOU LET US DIE!” They all said in unison and it kept on repeating in my head and wouldn’t stop.
‘After the fight with Marlex and Xeros… they attacked them. They killed them all and it is all… my fault. I didn’t fight they are all dead. All DEAD.’ I said to myself curling into a tight ball. “Lexain, Triskix, Raxi, Xemmsur. Gone… all gone. My fault.” I repeated out loud to myself, as everything went dark and I thought that I was dead too, until I heard a voice deep in my head.
‘Wake Nyx. That is an order.’ The cold voice spoke growing louder, ‘Listen to what is around you. Don’t let your eyes do everything for you, use all of your senses. You have to fight, but only you can choose to fight to win or to kill.’ With that the voice ended his speech with three simple warm words, ‘Make me proud’. That was when I realized who it was.
Opening my eyes I saw the battle all over again, but this time it was different. Lexian, Triskix, RaXi and Xemmsur were all there and they were all fighting Marlex, Xeros and the other man. The rain was now pouring down on us and the sky was so dark. Marlex was in the air swinging his Gwan-do down at Xemmsur and it hit her with a force that sent her flying backwards. With a laugh Marlex went straight at her again, jumping in his way I threw up my hands and made a barrier that dispatched his attack.
To my left Xeros was attacking RaXi. She merely dodged most of them, but a vine found it’s way out of the ground and wrapped around her leg dragging her down. She tried cutting her way threw but they just kept coming. Using the barrier to push Marlex back I quickly ran over to RaXi helping her cut the plants before they swallowed her whole. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Xeros make those spike things again, and Marlex start to get up. On the top of the hill I saw Lexian get hit hard by a Pink ring blade throwing him aside like a rag-doll. “Lexian!” I yelled out.
I wanted to run up there to help, but with Xeros coming at me and Marlex up and going again, I had my hands full here. Saix’s words came back and suddenly my sword appeared in my hand, and I wasn’t about to ask why. Swinging it backwards I cut the vines that were on RaXi. A mess of green spikes flew at me and running at him, I cut threw most of them. Few that where small enough reflected off of the small shield of light I cast around myself. Ducking down I brought the hilt of my sword up fast and it hit him right under his chin, sending him fly up. Kicking him swiftly in the side of his stomach I used the small vortex of wind, Marlex was trying to use to draw me to him, to send Xeros at the whirlwind. Xeros hit Marlex hard knocking him down in the wet slippery terran.
Rushing up the hill I saw the Ring blade come at Triskix’s head. “I will not let anyone DIE!” I screamed out. Raising one hand up I called out light to repel the object away. Lexian was kneeling on the ground holding his arm that had a nastily cut on it. “Don’t worry Lex! We will get back to the castle and everything—.” The man with the Ring blade pulled down his hood and cut me off mid sentence.
“You will not get to the castle from here, dear Nyx. Everything is not what it seems.” With that the grass faded away leaving a cold hard stone floor in its place. The hill began to vanish and I found that I stood on a flight of stairs. The musty smell was even stronger, and the fake rain that fell from the false sky was due to pipes that leaked constantly from the stone ceiling. I watched as the image of my friends slowly faded away one by one. I realized that everything that happened was a test, a mere illusion.
“Our castle has its own protection, as you have found out. I wonder… what was your deepest fear Nyx? Fighting for ‘freedom and peace’ the rest of your life? Or never seeing everyone you care for again? Or maybe it is trifling then that, maybe it is seeing yourself weak. That you can not save the ones you hold dear to you, that you are alone… maybe?” Each word that came from his mouth burned, and in a second I found that I was not on the stairs anymore but that I was next to him, even though I never moved an inch.

My head pounded and my limbs felt like little needles where digging into my skin, but I was awake. Opening my eyes I slowly looked around my surroundings. It looked like I was in some kind of courtyard, but I knew that couldn’t be right Minx locked us inside the castle. Standing to my feet in the distance three cloaked figures could be seen but I couldn’t make them out. As they drew closer I readied myself for any kind of attack. The sky above slowly grew dark and mist of rain played and danced across the earth, rolling over the ground in an unsung rhythm.
I tried figuring it out how I even got outside, Minx made a barrier for no one to come or go, unless RaXi or Xakiah were able to dispatch the barrier somehow. I didn’t think that I was unconscious for that long though. Once the three people were a couple yards away two of them removed their hoods.
To the left a shorter man with dark brown hair and bright golden eyes raised his head and smirked, as if in an all-knowing way. On the other side, to the right, a man with pale pink stood tall, Grey eyes scanned his surroundings. In the middle another man stood, his familiar bright blue eyes peered out from under his hood, a small smiled was spread across his face.
The man in the middle spread and raised his arms, and as if on cue the two other men attacked. The one we know as Marlex attacked first with a gust of wind. Quickly making a small barrier of light I blocked the slicing wind, and as Marlex kept the spurts of wind up the ground below me began to shake and vines crept out of the ground. Cutting the vines that seeped out of a small hole I quickly jumped up into the air between one of Marlex’s spurts of wind, and used one of the left over gusts of wind to get myself out of trap that was forming. Landing farther back from the familiar men my guitar appeared in my hands.
Smirking, the man to the left with brown hair jumped into the air and lifted his hand out to my direction. Memories flashed back from a long ago fight, and with out thinking I grasped my guitar tighter in one hand and swung myself around in a circle creating a shield of light. Blocking his oncoming attack I stuck the small spear, at the bottom of my guitar, into the ground and as the plants that survived the first attack proceeded to come at me. I played an E sharp and from the vibrations that shook the ground I bounced an intense amount of light off them cutting threw the encircling plants, and also starting the man above.
The sudden intensity of the impact of light sent him flying back hitting the stone wall of the castle; sliding down the unforgiving wall I felt a pain somewhere in my body for hurting an old unremembered friend. Without warning a gust of wind sent me flying threw the air and crashing into an old fountain in the middle of the courtyard. Sprawled out in the broken bowl of the fountain, water spilled out from the whole in the side. Mind foggy from the hard hit I was not ready for, I began to wonder how all of these attacks where so silent and so unstable. Something seemed off about the whole thing, but I couldn’t dwell on that now. There were other things that needed my attention at the moment.
I really did not wish to hurt Marlex or the other guy; I still consider them my friends. I did promise RaXi… but I still… I couldn’t really hurt, hurt them. Maybe I can make my own escape then I will not have to fight them. Climbing out of the ruins of the previous beautiful fountain, I turned back to Marlex and the others only to find them gone. Closing my eyes I listened to everything around me trying to find where they are at, but before I could fully extend my presence to feel around for the missing men. Something drew me out of my state.
Whipping around I saw a massive vine come at me threatening to run me threw, my guitar disappeared from the last attack and I couldn’t summon it back in time to block it. The only chance I had was to hopefully dodge the incoming vine. Diving to the side I landed hard on my left shoulder, I could feel the still new tissue tear from the impact. Groaning I raised my right arm to make a barrier from any other attacks that may take place, and sure enough something skimmed across the top of the barrier and another thing threatened to cut its way threw.
I could only hold it up for so long, and when I hit some kind of storage shed and went flew threw it, the barrier vanished and I found myself lying under a grove of trees. Lying there for I moment I thought of the ground. It was so weird… it wasn’t like you could feel the grass or smell the trees. The ground was so cold and hard, and everything had, like a musty smell.
“What kind of place is this?” I mumbled to myself.
Sitting up I could feel a warm liquid run down my face from a bruising cut on the top of my head. My shoulder screamed at me once more, but it was only a dull pain. I making my guitar appear I grasped the neck of it to help myself stand. Looking around the environment all I saw was more and more plants. Jumping out of the dense plant life I tried finding some where to go, but around every corner was the same thing. Then finally a sound was made, but it wasn’t a welcoming sound.
The steady mist of rain turned to a start of a downpour, and sky darkened to almost a point of invisibility to the normal eye. A familiar scream ran threw the darkness again running as fast I could I came up on a hill and on top of the hill were the three men again. I yelled out to them, asking what is going on, but they seemed unfazed. Attacking at me all at once Marlex jumped into the air swinging his Gwan-do and the other man drew out plant life from the ground to attack at me.
Bracing myself for impact I called out to the light to make a barrier around myself, I didn’t want to attack them. The man in the middle only laughed at the defensive act. A strong amount of wind whipped around the area and Marlex’s Gwan-do seemed to glow with the compressed wind surrounding the blade and hilt of the weapon.
The other man stood on top of a sea of plants as waves of the green mess sent spikes at the barrier, as if it was a warning before it really attacked. Closer they came the stronger the wind became and the bigger and sturdier the spikes seemed to be. I knew I should do a full out attack, but I still saw the child visions of the men. Even though I couldn’t fully remember all of them I knew hurting them was bad. They were still my friends no matter what.

"Ten minutes..." I heard RaXi mumble out as we began running up the steep stairs. The top was slowing coming into view and RaXi was just ahead of me, when all of a sudden I couldn't feel anything under my feet anymore. Black wispy fog ran across my body and I could feel myself fall into the darkness.
I could hear RaXi yell out my name and caught sight of ice coming at me, but before it was even near me it disappeared into the dark. The energy emitting from the portal felt familiar, but I couldn’t remember whose energy it was. All I knew that it was powerful... yet comforting.
"RaXi!" I called up from the darkness slowly wrapping around my form. "Don't worry about me! Go!! Complete the mission...I'll be alright!!!"
Falling down, it felt like I would fall forever that is until I hit the cold unforgiving ground floor. The last thing I remembering seeing was RaXi’s worried face, before I was plunged into the dark abyss nothingness of unconsciousness.
