Anime Central Update
Everyone loves recommendations--both giving them and getting them. Well, okay, I can't actually speak for everyone, but it sure warms my heart to see someone discover a series that way (and, better yet, end up really liking it). I guess the extra human connection is what makes it fun, hm?
Thread of the Week
I've got a great thread for you this week. When I saw this thread, I wondered how many AMV creators we actually have on OtakuBoards and throughout the network. It would be great for all of our AMV creators to show their stuff at OB - who knows, perhaps we could even hold a set of awards for our AMV creators at some stage.
I think this is one very unique area of art/editing that doesn't seem to get much traditional coverage (perhaps because it's so non-traditional by nature).
What do you guys think about anime music videos? And, for that matter, are any of our readers involved with the creation of AMVs?
I remember that wonderful trailer for theOtaku.com a while back and I thought it was a great piece of work. Video editing can be a real talent, so I think it would be interesting to see what people in the community can come up with.

Do you believe in the paranormal?
Are you a believer? Have you ever seen a ghost?
I can't say I've seen a ghost, but I have visited an infamous house in New South Wales that has a lot of urban legends attached. And it's truly freaky. It's abandoned, but it isn't like a house at all - it's more like some kind of odd temple. I get a weird cult vibe from it.
Although I'm not a ghost believer as such, I do love the idea of ghosts and all things spooky. I think Halloween is my favourite holiday of the year, for example.
But you know what sucks? In Australia, Halloween isn't really marked at all. I mean, it's very minor.
One thing I've always been envious of is the way that America really gets into the spirit of Halloween. I've always thought it looked like so much fun.
Do any of you do big things for Halloween? And is it marked in your home town?
I certainly wish we marked it in a bigger way here. For the time being, I might just have to have my own personal celebration. 
Anime Central Update
I look forward to seeing where this is going... Lunox just created an anime image battle thread (similar to the ones we've had in the Lounge, for instance). The rules are extremely simple: just post with a sentence explaining why your picture beats the one above it. Come join in on the fun!
OtakuBoards Game Reviews
I decided that this idea was just too good to be a regular forum update.
OtakuBoards member 8bit (AKA Lrb has created a very cool thread, called OtakuBoards Game Reviews).
The idea is simple: members write a review for any game they like (whether old or new) and it gets posted at a new World called Arcade Reviews.
I think this is a great concept with plenty of potential, but it needs support from our wonderful members to get off the ground. If the Arcade Reviews World starts to build up a few articles, I will make sure to link to it here permanently.
So, if you're interested in writing your own game reviews, this may be the place to do it. It'd be great if we ended up with a group of talented reviewers at OtakuBoards!
