My Random Thoughts

Hello there. Welcome to my world of Random Thoughts. In this world I’ll be posting stuff about anime and manga. Not to mention various other topics. I may post the occasional music video every now and than. And from time to time, I’ll just talk about my life in general. But first, here are a few things about me.

I was born an only child, for one thing. Originally I was planning to go into art professionally, but recently I’ve been more inclined towards writing. I still do the occasional wallpaper every now and then though, and I also still draw a little. But much of my energy these days goes into writing fan fiction. I’ve also recently become interested in archive and library work, which is something I’ve discovered I’m good at. Finally, like most people on the Internet, I like cats.

Better, But Still Not Great

Hello again all. Just thought I'd do an update to my post from a couple of days ago. The good news is that the repairs to my car ended up not being that big of a deal. Of course they needed to send out of some replacement part that took most of the day to get to the shop, so I was pretty much stuck at home for the whole morning and most of the afternoon. Still, it wasn't as serious as I was afraid it'd be. I mean I now owe my dad about $150.00 for part of the repair cost, but that's not really a big deal. Well...I don't really like having to give him that much money, but it could've been far worse.

I wish I had some equally optimistic news about my copy of Pokemon Sword, but unfortunately it's still screwed up. In fact I did something kind of stupid that probably made things worse. I got online to try and confirm what XxArrancarFanxX told me about just waiting for the game to correct the problem on its own, and I ended up finding a YouTube video about how to supposedly fix such a problem with the game's clock and daily events. I don't do so well with wait-and-see problems like this (probably because of my anxiety issues), so I went ahead and tried what I saw in that video. At first it seemed to work, but then by the days end I was back to having the same problem as before.

For all I know, I've probably only made things worse. The save file is now likely corrupted or something. I guess the only thing to do now is just put the game down and walk away, at least for a while. In a few days I may turn it on again and see if the game still corrects itself. If it doesn't, then I'm really at a loss as to what to do.

Still, it's probably just as well that I put the game away for at least a while, since not only is it now frustrating me a bit, I feel like I might've gotten just a little too wrapped up in it. In fact I hesitated from getting the game because I was afraid that just such a thing would happen. Of course I also really wanted to give the game a try in order to do research for a Pokemon fanfic I'm thinking of doing later. Well, I think that about does it for this post. Things Could Be Better

Hello again everyone. I know it's been a while since I've posted anything on here. The main reason I haven't is because this site just still isn't very active. I still try to check in here once a day though just to see what's going on here, if anything. I'm making this post today though partly to vent and partly to ask for help with a small problem.

The thing I want to vent about is a problem with my car. I hadn't even pulled out of the driveway to go to my job yesterday when I noticed that the check engine light was on. The car seemed to be working fine, and I was able to get to work and back without it breaking down. Still, it's a point of concern that has me a bit stressed out. I'm worried that when they check the car out at the shop tomorrow, the problem will turn out to be something serious (like the transmission needing to be replaced), and that it'll be because I did something to the car that caused that problem to happen. I'm also pretty concerned that my dad will make me pay for most of the repair, and if it is something like a problem with the transmission, the cost I'll have to pay will be pretty steep.

Now for the thing I wanted to ask for help with. For the last week I've been playing Pokemon Sword, and have been enjoying it immensely. Unfortunately it seems like I might've done something to screw the game up. A couple of nights ago I discovered that the clock for the game was wrong and realized that I had set my Nintendo Switch Lite for the wrong timezone. So I messed with the game's clock a bit to get the correct time, but right now it looks like I may have inadvertently caused a glitch that stopped certain daily features in the game from activating. Right now I've decided to wait and see if they activate again tomorrow, but I'm guessing that they probably won't. So if anyone reading this playing either Sword and Shield has encountered this problem and knows how to fix it, please let me know.

I confess that this is my first time operating such a sophisticated gaming system, so I'm a little clueless when it comes to certain things with it. Anyway, that's pretty much all I have to report. Sorry my post couldn't be more positive. I know that negative posts like this one are one of the reasons why this site has become an internet dive bar.
