Chapter 5: Rise of the Ocean God
As Pegasusmon flew through the air, T.K. saw a strange cloud formation in the distance over the ocean that looked familiar. Than he remembered the picture of the disturbance at the Bermuda Triangle that he saw in the paper. The cloud formation there at the Dark Ocean. The article in the paper said that the scientists monitoring the disturbance thought that it was being caused by a unique celestial alinement, and T.K. remembered that the old Divermon said that the stars would soon be right again, and that Dragomon would be able to go to the human world.
"Look!" Gatomon said, and pointed at a cliff in the distance. T.K. could see that someone on the edge of the cliff who seemed to be chained between to poles, and he knew that the person could only be Kari. Further down the cliff behind Kari, T.K. could see several dark shapes that seemed to be bowing repeatedly to something unseen. The shapes were clearly the dark Divermon that worshipped Dragomon. T.K. could hear them chanting in some kind of obscene language. "Faster Pegasusmon!" T.K. commanded his stead, "Take us down to that cliff!"
Pegasusmon turned and headed towards the cliff. Suddenly the water beneath began to get choppy. The waves began to strike harder against the base of the cliff. A large shape began to rise up from the depths. T.K. knew that the shape could only be Dragomon. It was a horrifying site to behold. Dragomon's eyes shined red like the eyes of a demonic car. Beneath the tentacles of its octopus head was a pair of massive jaws. A chain of prayer beads hung around Dragomon's neck. Its arms and legs were nothing more than tentacles. The right arm was just long tentacle, while the left arm and both legs were masses of tentacles. Dragomon's left shoulder had its own small pair of red eyes and three small horns growing out of it. On Dragomon's back were a massive pair of dragon-like wings. Dragomon's skin was pale blue, and on its forehead was a red mark in the form of an evil symbol of some kind. It was truly terrifying site to behold.
Worried for Kari's safety, T.K. told Pegasusmon to attack Dragomon. Pegasusmon fired a cluster of stars from its wings at Dragomon, but the dark ocean god was unfazed by the attack. Dragomon glanced over at Pegasusmon and spoke something in its inhuman voice.
"Mmfguluu rluueh!"
With those inhuman words, Dragomon swatted Pegasusmon with his right tentacle. T.K., Gatomon, and Pegasusmon crashed into the ground behind the worshipping Divermon. The impact caused Pegausumon to revert back into Patamon. T.K. got up slowly. He was a little banged up but okay. T.K. checked on his two Digimon friends. Gatomon was okay, but Patamon was out cold. The shadowy Divermon began to advance on T.K.. T.K. could see that Kari was looking over the back of her shoulder, watching what was going on. Gatomon began fighting the army of Dragomon worshippers, but there were too many of them for her. One of the creatures knocked Gatomon into a large rock not far behind T.K. Gatomon was knocked out cold.
T.K. stood there, holding an unconscious Patamon in his arms. Between him and Kari was an army of the most vile creatures he had ever seen. Suddenly Dragomon began to reach for Kari with its left arm of tentacles.
"Get away from her!" T.K. shouted at Dragomon. "GET AWAY FROM THE WOMAN I LOVE!"
Suddenly, a golden light began to shine from T.K.'s pocket. The light was from T.K.'s D-3. In that same instance, Patamon woke up and was enveloped by a golden light. The ball of light that was Patamon shot into the air and exploded.
"Patamon warp digivolve to... Seraphimon!"
When the light cleared, a ten winged angel clad in armor hovered in the air above T.K. and the Dragomon worshippers. T.K. had this form of Patamon once before. This was Patamon's mega-ultimate form, Seraphimon.
Dragomon and his followers recoiled from the golden light shining from Seraphimon's wings. From his hands, Seraphimon fired a cluster of seven golden fireballs at Dragomon. The evil ocean god roared in pain. Than Seraphimon made a quick gesture with his right are, and from his right gauntlet extended a blade of golden energy. Seraphimon than flew at Dragomon and severed the mass of tentacles that made up Dragomon's left arm. The severed mass quickly shattered into particles of data that harmlessly floated away. Dragomon screeched in agony.
Back on the ground, half of the Dragomon worshipping Divermon watched in amazement as their god was wounded by Seraphimon, while the other half surrounded T.K. and began to advance on him. T.K. tried punching a few of the creatures, but what match was a mere human against an army of Digimon. Especially Digimon who were mutated by a dark power. The creatures began to envelop T.K.. Kari screamed.
"T.K.! NOOO!"
Suddenly a bright light began to shine from Kari's D-3, which she always kept in her pocket in case of a Digimon attack. Gatomon suddenly came too and was enveloped in the same kind of light that Patamon was enveloped in. The ball of light that was Gatomon shot into the air and exploded like Patamon's ball of light did.
"Gatomon warp digivolve to... Ophanimon!"
The light cleared, and hovering in the air above T.K. was another angel Digimon that looked similar to Seraphimon, but there were a few differences. For one thing, this angel was a woman, and had only eight wings instead of ten. The angel's armor was blue-green instead of grey like Seraphimon's. Although the helmet that covered the angel's face bore the same golden cross that was on Seraphimon's faceplate. The angel fired several glowing crystals from her hands that hit and destroyed some of the Divermon, while the rest of them scattered. The angel went down to check on T.K., who was slowly able to get up.
"Gatomon, is that you?" T.K. asked the new angel. "I am, and a bit more," the angel Digimon replied, "I am called, Ophanimon."
T.K. was a bit confused. The last time Gatomon digivolved into a mega-ultimate Digimon, she became a dragon called Magnadramon. T.K. wondered if this new mega form meant something.
"You go help Kari," Ophanimon told T.K.. "I'll go help Seraphimon fight that demon."
With that, Ophanimon flew off to fight Dragomon. Meanwhile T.K. went to help Kari. None of the Divermon got in T.K.'s way. They were too afraid of the angel Digimon that were beating their god to a pulp.
"Kari, are you all right?" T.K. asked. There was a smile on Kari's face and tears in her eyes. "I'm all right now," Kari replied, a bit choked up, "and I knew that you would come to save me."
As T.K. began to try an remove the chains on Kari's wrists, Seraphimon continued his battle with Dragomon over the ocean. The battle was quite one sided. Seraphimon was dodging all of Dragomon's attacks, but evading was all he was doing. Seraphimon was not making any counter attacks, it was as if he was waiting for something. Than Ophanimon joined the battle. In Ophanimon's hand appeared a golden javelin, which Ophanimon used to fire a golden beam of light that went through Dragomon's chest. Dragomon than began to dissolve into particle of data. The Dark Ocean's god was no more.
Back on the cliff, T.K. was having trouble removing Kari's chains. Than Seraphimon and Ohpanimon arrived, and Seraphimon used the energy blade that extended from his gauntlet to cut the chains. Now free, Kari hugged T.K. and broke down into tears in his arms. The nightmare was over, but something still seemed wrong. There was suddenly no wind. The ocean was dead calm, and the Divermon began running away. T.K. thought that it was because the angel Digimon destroyed their god, but than Seraphimon told the others that he sensed something coming, something evil. Ophanimon told everyone that she sensed the same thing. Suddenly there was a sound over the water. A rushing sound that told the two humans and their Digimon that something was coming, something big.
