Pandora's Rebirth

~*Vanessa*~

The creepy man lifted me up off the floor. My feet were dangling, and I was shaking. Who did he think he was?! What was he going to do to me?! “Vanessa Vessalius, you have been deemed to the Abyss, your guilt of the sin Rage.” He boomed, his voice like gravel. Beneath me, a large, black hole appeared. I tried to look for John, but I couldn’t twist me head around. The man let me go and I reached to try to grab something, anything. But I couldn’t catch anything. I heard John scream my name, before the black hole closed up. I continued to fall, wondering if I was going to die. The awful belly flipping vertigo feeling had taken over my body, and I couldn’t move. I closed my eyes, and waited for it to end. My back hit something, and I lost my breath. Coughing, I sat up. Nothing but blackness surrounded me. I began to stand up, and found my footing.

“I need to get out of here.” I said aloud. I started running forward, but heard a slight whooshing sound. I suddenly ran into something. A row of metal bars crashed down in front of me, blocking my path. I yelled and ran to my left, but the same thing happened. I tried to my other left. But once again, my path was blocked. There was only one more way to go, so I crept towards the opening, but iron bars slammed down on my only hope of escaping my prison, literally. I was now surrounded by bars. I sat down on the, well, I guess it was the ground, even though I couldn’t see it. I brought my knees up to my chest and felt my eyes start to water. There was no one around, so I just allowed myself to cry. My day was destroyed. Actually, my life was destroyed now. I was trapped. No way to go.

“How dare that guy?! How dare he!” I screamed. “This is all his fault! Who let him into the ball room?! They should have known better! Maybe then I wouldn’t be in this miserable place!” But, something deep down inside of me, was whispering something to me I couldn’t quite understand. I thought about John, and how he had yelled for me. I felt anger bubble in my stomach. Why could he have saved me?! He didn’t do his job! But then, an icy feeling washed over me.

“No, he did do his job, he has done his job, for as long as I’ve known him.” I felt a strange feeling. What was this? It wasn’t sadness exactly, I felt more upset towards myself.

Shame.

It hit me like train. I was ashamed. Guilty. Wrong. Sad. In that moment, I hated myself. And I sobbed.

“Miss?” I heard a voice. I looked up, and someone was standing a few feet away from me.

“H-Huh?” I stuttered. Looking up, I saw a boy who looked to be about my age. His red hair gleamed brilliantly, and it brought out his green eyes. He held out his hand.

“Are you lost miss? Do you need some help?” He asked. I hesitantly looked at his hand. I had nothing to lose, right? I took his hand and he carefully pulled me up.

“I-I want to get out of here.” I said. He smiled a little.

“I can help, if you want me to.” I blinked.

“What?!” I exclaimed.

“Yes, and all you have to do is say my name, and agree to the contract.” He smiled at me.

“Really?” I felt hope again. I could maybe get out of here!

“What’s your name?” I asked.

“Rider. And yours?”

“Vanessa.”

“Vanessa…how pretty.” Rider smiled. “So, do you want to get out of here?” He asked.

“Rider, yes, I agree to the contract.” I said. He walked towards me, and then the thoughts started flying around in my mind. How did he get in here with me? Where did he come from? Was this a bad choice?

“Wonderful…” He took my waist and I tried to push him away, but he was too strong. I felt his hand touch my cheek, and he pulled me closer to him.

“What…what are you-” I was cut off, by his lips on mine. I desperately tried to pull away, but he held me firmly. Something drained into my mouth and I couldn’t help but to swallow. Finally, he released me and I fell to my knees, breathing heavily.

“That’s a good girl.” He said. I felt something brush up against my leg, and that’s when I closed my eyes, and didn’t remember anything else.
