Chapter 10

This girl was actually pretty interesting. She didn’t run from me. “1978 was my senior year if you didn’t catch it from the cover.” I stated.

“I noticed. So you’re about my age then.” She stated.

I nodded. “I’m 18.”

“Well you were 18.” She stated with a little smile.

My face went flat once again. “What’s that supposed to mean? Last time I checked I still look and act like a teenager. I’m not an old geezer.” I commented crossing my arms.

“Alright, alright, calm down, it was just supposed to be a joke.” She said putting her hands up.

I sighed, “Sorry about that. I was picked on when I was little about how I acted older then I was.” I told her.

“Oh, I’m so sorry.” She apologized.

I smiled at her and sat down on the floor. “It’s fine. It’s not like you knew or anything. You can go ahead and keep looking through my stuff. I think it’s only fair since I was reading your diary.”

Her eyes instantly perked up and she quickly set down my yearbook and opened up another box. “Why were you reading my diary anyways?” she asked me.

“I thought it was just a journal with short stories that you were writing in it. I didn’t know if was a diary. Maybe write that on the front next time.” I stated and I had something thrown at me but it just phased right through me.

I looked over with where it came from and she didn’t seem to be even paying attention. She was in my clothes. “Just how tall were you?!” She asked excited as she held out one of my shirts.

“I-I was six foot.” I answered. “They probably smell like moth balls though.” I told her truthfully.

“Actually, did you wear cologne because that’s more of what I smell then the month balls.” She answered.

“Occasionally I would wear it yeah.” I answered and she smiled playfully at me.

I coughed a bit, “If you want to use some of my clothes your welcome to. It’s not like I have a use for them any more.” I told her and then it was like watching a cartoon as she dove into the boxes and clothes started going everywhere.

‘Just what is she?’ I thought. ‘I’ve never seen someone go through boxes like that.’ I pushed my glasses back up onto the bridge of my nose as I continued to watch silently.
