Ghost

Chapter 42
✾Zak✾

I left the room closing the door behind me I wandered to what’s now my room and close the door behind me, “Good to know that you’re still a closet pervert,” I comment sitting down on my bed and looked ahead of me. Anthony phased in to view, his cheeks puffed out like a child and his arms crossed over his chest.

“I am not a closet pervert. I was in the room exploring before she even came into the room. Besides, that was the room that was my room when I spent the night. So, I was curious what happened to it.” He answered keeping his voice low so one would hear him.”

“Way to keep a low profile knocking over that bin. If you panic so much and you try to phase through something you just end up knocking down without meaning to. IF, you weren’t trying to get her attention and spook her a little,” I smirk at him and raise an eyebrow.

“I was not trying to spook her, I just panicked because I thought she was going to start undressing when she found that dress and I didn’t mean to,” He flailed his arms and even though I can see right through him I just know he’s blushing.

I chuckle covering my mouth to muffle the laugh, “Dude, I’m just messing with you. I know you’re not a pervert I was the same way when they started moving in anyways, so it’s all good.”

“Zak, could you come down and help me with the laundry,” Vera’s mom yelled up the stairs and I stood up.

“Coming,” I call back and hurry out the door of my room. I wander down stairs and go right to the laundry room to help with the laundry and bring it out to the living room. I sit down on the couch with Vera’s mom and help her fold the laundry and separate it. She only allows me to fold mine and her husband’s laundry, though.

“I put the tux up in your room while you and Vera were out yesterday, Zak. If you need help with the tie just come down and I’ll tie it for you,” Vera’s father said not once looking up from the newspaper, “We have time. It’ll take the girls much longer to get ready than us.”

“We need the time to make ourselves look beautiful dear,” Vera’s mom commented with a playful smile on her lips.

“Thank you sir,” I said finishing up with the laundry that I was folding and then I pick up the laundry basket to take upstairs with Vera’s mom and a rush of dizziness rushes over me and my visions blurs out. “Mom, I need help with my dress, could you help me please?” I look to the stairwell where Vera’s voice came from. But then I feel myself be pulled away from Vera’s mom as she headed towards the stairs.

“You alright Zak?” Vera’s mom asked me placing a hand on my arm.

“I’m fine. I think Vera might need your help, though,” I mention looking down at her and she has a confused look on her face.

“Mom, I need help with my dress, could you help me please?” Just like what I saw just moment before I turn and look up at the stairwell. Then I look back at Vera’s mom and she looked shocked.

“Coming dear,” She said taking the basket with her and heading up the stairs.

“How did you know that was going to happen?” I turn to look at Vera’s father, who’s looking at me.

“The same way I knew Vera was in trouble the day she was pushed into the school pool,” I answered.

He rose an eyebrow at me, “I have a hard time believing in that kind of stuff,” He sighed and went back to his paper, “But, if anything bad happens with those visions of yours you’re always welcome to talk to me about it.”

I smile a little and nod, “Thank you sir,” I walk around the couch and head up the stairs.

“You might want to hop in the shower now before the girls take over the bathroom,” He yelled from the living room.

“Will do,” I chuckle and take my clothes to my room. I set the hamper on the bed and grab my warm up pants from soccer and a tank top, along with a new pair of boxers and I knock on the door to the spare room where I’m hoping Vera and her mom are still located.

“Who is it?” Vera asked.

“It’s me, I’m just wondering if either of you need to get into the bathroom. I’m going to hop in the shower,” I answer.

“I’m all set for now,” Vera answered.

“Good idea going now dear,” Vera’s mom giggled on the other side of the door.

“I’ll be out shortly,” I say back before going a little further down the hall and going into the bathroom.

I take a quick shower and change into the new set of clothes I took with me into the bathroom. When I got out Vera and her mother have migrated over to her bedroom, but the doors shut so I can’t see what they’re up to. So, I go back to my room and found the tux. Setting it out on my bed I dried my hair as best as I could before I grab the comb off my dresser top and brushing it back.

“You look like you did back then,” Anthony commented from behind me.

“I’m planning on at least putting the back of my hair up. I don’t know how many, well, if any of our old classmates are going to be at this thing, so I would rather keep my hair pulled back. It’s bad enough that I’m going to slick my hair back like I used to,” I explain looking around to see if there was any hair gel in the room. And there is none. I leave my room and poke into the bathroom to see that the girls have not taken it over yet and I grab the hair gel that’s in there.

I go back to my room, get dressed into the tux, leaving the neck tie draped over my shoulders and slick my hair back before pulling the rest of it into a ponytail in the back. I put the gel back in the bathroom as I head down stairs and Vera’s father helps me tie the tie. I can’t remember how to do it. At some point, he got dressed and was ready before I was. Then we stood by the door and waited for the girls to come down. Vera looks absolutely, beautiful in the dress that she picked out. And her hair looks beautiful curled the way it is.

I help her into her leather jacket and then we went out to the car. I held the door open for her to get in first. When I closed the door, I looked up at my bedroom window to see Anthony wave at me. I smiled and went around to the other side of the car and then got in myself.

I sat in the back with Vera quietly and looked out the window. I’m nervous going to this thing, but I didn’t want to say no. I know that Tony will be fine at home alone. It’ll also give him a chance to explore a bit more without worrying that he’s going to knock something over again. I just hope that everything goes well.
