Quote of the Week: You do you and I'll do me and we're not gonna do each other.

Schedule
Current Anime Schedule:
- Tuesday- Kamisama Hajimemashita season 2
- Wednesday- Parasyte the Maxim
- Thursday- Tokyo Ghoul √A
- Friday- Death Parade
New episodes almost every weekday. I think it's fun to be able to look forward to a new episode each week. Although I guess the only down side is the actual waiting( I'm dying to see tomorrow's episode of Parasyte the Maxim).
Just a little Random: I started Parasyte the Maxim a couple days ago and from the beginning I could see why people are always comparing it to Tokyo Ghoul; there really are a lot of parallels.
Activity
I've got a 3 day weekend so I'm planning to draw some stuff and catch up on my anime/manga since I don't have a lot of homework. I'm trying to learn how draw different poses so I'm going to be using scenes from different manga as references. I actually have a lot I want to do this weekend:
- draw
- finish book
- catch up on manga/anime
- work on book contest
- start new story
It may not sound like a lot but I often find myself running out of time.
Brainstorm
So, I'm entering this contest where you have to write and illustrate a children's book that teaches kids about accepting other cultures. I have 2 and a half weeks left to do it, but I don't really have any ideas yet. I think being unique will help me win so the first thing I'm gonna do is make a list of the cliches that you usually hear about this topic, to make sure I don't include in my book:
- Treat others the way you want to be treated
- Try it ( like a food from a different country) and you might like it
- Pay attention to the inside not the outside/ don't judge a book by its cover
I know these are good messages, but I hear them all the time and I want to create something new instead of just recycling old sayings.
I have ideas of what to include, but not a specific story. Then again, it's supposed to be a book for K-5 graders so I guess it doesn't really need a story. Ideas:
- Include facts about different cultures that a kid would probably think are cool or interesting
- Tell which things in our culture originally came from other cultures
This is what I have so far. I need to give it more thought.
It's Friday
Seriously running out of ideas of what to post here.
I plan to maybe draw some stuff this weekend. (I know it has been a while)
Maybe I should write another story soon? I have lots if ideas.
I'm reading this really good series right now called Insignia by S. J. Kincaid. It's really futuristic ( that stuff is really popular right now. Books about future rebellions and stuff. Cause everybody hates the government) But anyways it's a really good trilogy and very funny too.
That's it for today.
I guess....
