So, last night, one minute I am watching Hayate the Combat Butler and in chat, and the next, poof! All the power goes out. Kind of weird since we usually get blackouts when it's warmer out, and it wasn't even that warm last night. Ah well, I got a bit more sleep than normal because of it, I guess.
And then this morning I decided to watch The Man Who Fell to Earth, thinking I would see the version with David Bowie (who wouldn't want to watch a movie with Bowie as an alien?!), but instead I got some lame made-for-TV version. Yuck. I had a decent time laughing at how incredibly corny it is, and how much it reeks of the '80s, but that doesn't really make up for a lack of alien!Bowie. :(
Reminder once again that tonight is the beginning of Vision of Escaflowne! Bring all your friends! :D
I finished Kaleido Star just now ... and, holy crap, it is perfection. Man, I never thought the second season of the series could improve upon the fantastic finale of the first season (Layla + Sora = <3 <3 <3 <3 <3), but when the dome opens to reveal the view of the sea while Sora is at the apex of the Angel's flight, the show got me. I could not imagine fiction making me any happier than that moment -- it's similar to the end of Eureka Seven, actually, in that everything builds to that one amazing release of emotion at the end. Layla saying Sora is no longer her dream but her pride and joy is just the icing on the cake for me. I still have a lump in my throat just thinking about that, haha. xD
Absolutely watch this series if you have not seen it already.
EDIT: Apparently Kaleido Star is my 150th completed series/OVA/movie. I am happy with this!
