Well, we didn't win anything. We weren't surprised. But seeing so many amazing films, it didn't matter. Also . . . we confirmed: NOT THE WORST FILM! We felt our "scary clown" movie was better than the other "scary clown" movie, of all things. Still, the number of similarities we had between the two films was kinda spooky. We both had internal "character IS the clown" setup, both had an early scene of a woman getting out of a red car, both had bludgeoning deaths with repeated strikes to a downed person . . . yeah, spooky. But awesome.
In all, a pretty good night.
And then we went for Denny's afterward to recharge. Well, except Cruz, who had already ditched a little early so he could go to work and keep the streets of Vancouver safe from bad traffic.
So where does that leave us now? Well, we all feel it would be prudent for us to make more movies in the future, even if they were just for fun and not for any sorts of competitions or anything. We all have ideas we wanna try, things we wanna do . . . and above all, we wanna enjoy ourselves doing it.
Next time . . .
After Denny's, I drove Alexa back to UBC while the radio quite nicely played acoustic songs and mellow songs. Very soothing end to the night.
And then I got home and watched the Scott McNeil movie again. This time, I paid attention to the credits . . . and then shit my pants a little. The "cannibal cultist" that knifes Scott McNeil's character was the guy who introduced me to D&D back in high school! Old close friend who I haven't seen in seven, eight years . . . had I paid attention to the credits during the screening, I could have asked those guys about him . . . but alas. Still, crazy cool to randomly notice that.
So yeah. Good times.
