“I don’t like Temari, darn it!” Shikamaru shouted again. “C’mon! Admit, she’s your girlfriend.” “NARUTO!” Shikamaru stomped off irritated once again by the same annoying question. He truly was just friends with her. But no one, especially Naruto, would listen. He even tried ignoring her for a month or two! He was so ticked off… And everyone knows Shikamaru hates troublesome situations. This is a story of love, faith, and, of course, Shikamaru…
“No way! Really?” Asked Shikamaru, thoughtfully. “Yep. That’s how babies are made!” Replied Chouji. “No wonder my parents wouldn’t tell me!” Chouji laughed. They were casually walking around Konoha and chatting. “I’m gonna do it!” Exclaimed Shikamaru. Chouji just stopped and stared at him terrified. “What? I need to become a Jounin some time.” Said Shikamaru trying to figure out why Chouji was gawking at him. “OH! Phew… I thought… Never mind…” “CHOUJI! NO!” Yelled Shikamaru now creeped out. For once Shikamaru got a sudden energy rush, so he bolted forward without looking where he was going… And fell… “OW!” Cried two voices at once. One was a girls, the other Shikamaru’s. “Uh… S-sorry! You ‘k?” asked the girl a little shaken. “ Uh… yeah… What a drag. Are you ok too?” Shikamaru was blushing and had his recognizable annoyed face on. “YEP!” she said with a big smile. Shikamaru got up and offered his hand to her.
(This girl…. Who is she? God, I’m stupid…. Guess this is why I’m so lazy. At least I’m proud of my laziness…) “Thank you, but I’ll get up myself… My hands are all bloody from my mission. You see, I’m a Kunoichi, one of the best out of my age group in my village. Uh, The Village Hidden In The Clouds. It’s a land donated by Lord Orochimaru to orphans… But, of course, we all had to pay a price, as does every new born. It’s so tragic…” “What happened? I mean what was your end of the bargain?” “That’s for me to know alone. Where does the Hokage live? I have a message to deliver.” “Message?” “Yes.” (I wonder… What’s the message read? Maybe I can get all my question’s answers out of her if I walk to the Hokage’s place…)
(Awwwwww! He’s cute! I should ask his name. He seems nice… but too suspicious. I should keep quiet.) “Tell ya what. Answer me two questions and I’ll walk ya there. Well, whatdya say?” “Nice try but it’ll take more than that… How ‘bout ya throw in a kiss. Deal?” “A… What? No! I don’t even know your name!” “It’s Nara Yukari. We have a deal or what?” “You’re a sneaky one. Then again you did say that you were one of the best. No. Make up a different ultimatum.” (Darn. Guess that won’t work. Unless he’s desperate enough… Nothin’ wrong wit’ tryin’.) “Well, okay. I’ll just ask someone else to help me. That… Or I’ll force ya.”
Yukari stuck her tongue at him. She had brown hair with a teal highlight at the left side of it as long as Ino’s was. It was tied back with a pink hair tie similarly to Deidara’s. She had two skinny bang pieces hanging down symmetrically on her forehead that drooped down just below her chin. Her eyes were icy-blue, but when they hit the sun they lit up to a deep aqua. She was a half-a-head shorter than Shikamaru. She looked like she was slightly skinnier than Shikamaru. She had on black shorts that were only as long as half her upper leg. And a black short sleeve jacket that just covered her upper torso with the Japanese symbol for Japan on it in green rhinestones. She wore it zippered up. Under that she had a no sleeve black shirt that wasn’t visible. It was the same length as the jacket but attached to the ending it broke off to a netting like Shikamaru’s, which was visible and covered her lower torso. Around her neck she wore her headband which was also black. And she wore normal black sandals.
(What an ugly, annoying girl…. Goth? Heh. Now I sound like Shikamaru. Maybe we’ve been best friends for too long. Nah. He rocks. My favorite lazy dude in Konoha.)
(… What do I do? I can’t kiss her! But… I’m so curious… Think. Think Shikamaru, THINK!) “Fine. It’s a deal. But you have to keep your end of the bargain.” “Don’t worry. I swear, but don’t forget the kiss.” “… I won’t… So are you gonna get up or not?” “Um… yeah sorry” She shot a cute smile and giggled.
She got up. As they started walking t’ward the Hokage’s place Shikamaru asked his questions. “Sooooo… By the way, I’m Nara Shikamaru.” “Cool! Same last name!” Yukari giggled again.
“You laugh too much.” (She’s cute… But annoying… How am gonna get out of this? …I know.) “K, question one. What’s that message about?” (I don’t want to ask her my main curiosity yet… She might think I’m way too suspicious.) “The message? Oh, it’s just a list of the Shinobi from my village. The reason I had to go through so many people to get hear is because the village is not well known. They all want to see what we’re made of and if any of our Shinobi are useful.” “Hm… Okay. And… question two. What was your end of the bargain?” “To answer you two questions.”
Shikamaru stopped and turned to her. “No, Yukari, is it? I meant your bargain with Orochima-“ “I answered two questions.” “But the second was not MY question.” “It was. You should’ve worded it better.” “Darn… I hate stubborn, troublesome women…” She giggled and stuck her tongue at him again. “Are those habits of yours?” “Shut up. Now, see that alley?” “Yeah?” “I see the Hokage’s place from hear. So hold your end of the bargain.” “… Alright. Ya got me…” Yukari turned and walked into the alley, but when she looked back Shikamaru was gone…. “DARN!”
