Martina is a Perfect Foil

Another Racheal Lillis character that can be easily mistaken for Jessie.

Martina is the princess of Zoana and self proclaimed antagonist of Lina Inverse and party, while far from being a villain, she's more of an annoyance demanding attention, especially when Lina surrounds herself with cute male companions to flirt with; adding to her unique character, she's named after a famous female tennis player and made up a majin to worship called Zoamelgustar to try and play the villain but is too pathetic to do so and she only bothers Lina to begin with because Lina accidentally destroyed her kingdom in a misfire, but the fact that Lillis chose her Jessie voice for the role just makes her sympathetic enough that she makes for Lina's perfect foil, especially when you consider in OVAs that Naga the Serpent exists.
Lina having to deal with Martina on a regular basis gives the actual villain more weight when they get revealed.
Lina Inverse is so powerful that the only way to nerf her is surrounding her with friends and rivals too silly to be taken seriously but just competent enough that she can't do her job, Martina is the perfect example of this.

Megumin is Just a Discount Lina Inverse

This is a hot take that needs to be said really.

Megumin is a high ranking mage from the world of Konosuba, she has the power to level entire towns with a massive explosion, she has a complex about her body type and has an appearance that looks more like she's make believing she's a mage as she shares a basic design build of Chunnibyou characters right down to the eyepatch.
In reality she's a poor imitation of Lina Inverse, anime's most powerful mage and easily top ten most powerful anime characters of all time.
The effort it takes for Megumin to summon one explosion, Lina can casually cast Dragon Slave, an attack with the same destructive capabilities but way more powerful, just to rub it in, she can cast Explosion Array with no effort, a low level explosion attack for casually taking out bandits.
I get that the joke of Konosuba is that Megumin's powers are impractical for any fantasy party but her popularity is undeserved considering that older anime characters trump her in everything.
Still not convinced?
Lina Inverse's Giga Slave can wipe out the entire world if she fails to cast it properly, when she succeeds, all final bosses are instantly killed, the only side effect is being drained of Magical power.

Amelia is the Justice Princess Done Right

In stark contrast to previous entrant Rosalie, we have the same type of character with better execution.

Amelia is the justice loving princess of Saillune, raised by her father who instilled in her the righteous path of justice.
What that means in laymans terms is that the King and by extension Amelia, are the main defence for their kingdom.
While Rosalie's troops come down with a bad case of death, Amelia actively makes sure that all her troops survive any ordeal that comes their way even if it's sometimes from her own ally Lina Inverse herself.
Having returned to playing Dynasty Warriors recently where these fancy buzz words are thrown around all the time, it's refreshing to find a character who can live up to their boasting for once, even if you do get sick of it by the end of her debut episode.
