"How many humans has he eaten?" Yusuke asked, joining Kurama's side both of their eyes locked ahead.
"Two." Kurama responded.
"Already?" Yusuke gaped at him.
"And he dismembered three." Kurama continued, still looking ahead.
"CRIPES!" Yusuke clenched his teeth and fists.
"...Four." Kurama updated.
"What do you make of him, Hiei?" Yusuke flicked his attention to the demon who landed behind them.
Hiei removed his headband.
"...I'd rather not say." He said and then replaced it.
Kurama's eyes shifted over to him, a small bead of sweat on his cheek.
"Um...excuse me." Suika said a few paces behind. "ERK!" They all turned and glared at her.
"So, this was your plan all along, eh?!" Yusuke snapped, spittle coming from his mouth as he yelled.
"NO!" Suika defended.
"So you DO have a plan!" Hiei pointed his sword.
"I don't have anything like that!" Suika said, annoyed.
"Then, why else would you leave the portal wide open?!" Yusuke interrogated with a scowl.
"..." Suika's mouth was open, her ears standing straight up. "..." They faced each other in silence as it sank in. "...I forgot." She realized, her fox ears drooping. DREAD. A huge sweat drop hung behind all of their heads.
"He's coming." Kurama's eyes widened.
"Let's move." Yusuke headed off. Kurama and Hiei followed. Suika took a step after. "YOU stay put!" Yusuke whipped around, pointing his index finger and thumb at her.
"I can fight, too!" Suika argued, spreading her claws.
"You ARE NOT a teammate of ours!" Yusuke glared. "As soon as we finish this guy, you're next!"
He bent his elbow, removing the line of fire from her and departed. Suika's fox ears pinned back as she watched their backs while they walked away.
"Hmph." She charged after them.
CLAMP. She winced in pain, at a complete halt. Kurama's hand was clamped around her upper arm. He wasn't even looking.
"Listen to Yusuke." He said evenly.
She shuddered as thorny vines wrapped around her legs, holding her in place.
"If you make any movement, they'll devour you." He let go and walked away.
