I'm not even sure how old this picture is, but I think it still stands the test of time. To be exact, the painting of Maria Tachibana from Sakura Wars is a couple of years old, but the background was made today. I couldn't stand keeping it packed away in an envelope, unseen by anyone.
Since I'm still happy with how the painting looks, I didn't want to touch up any details or lines. When I first painted it, I wanted the colors to look soft, so I didn't do any major coloring on any of it. I even tried to keep the background colors and images fairly light, yet colorful enough to work. As usual, the character was painted with a mixture of acrylics and watercolors, with a CG background.
