So I'm a big fan of anything gothic or victorian, yada yada. One of my first thoughts when I think 'gothic' is the art style of Thores Shibamoto, especially the Trinity Blood works. I cannot believe the intricacy and detail in every piece. It both intimidates and inspires me as an artist. *laughs* So for this challenge I chose one of my favorite pieces by Thores to work with, an image of Astaroshe Asran. I extracted her, then wanted to create a wallpaper that was both beautiful and unexpected, yet a little dirty and grungy. I decided to go with the church scene based on the theme of Trinity Blood itself, though the background is actually a scan from another one of my favorites series' "X". After working with the textures and coloring of the wall, I adjusted the text I added to inspire my choices~ Unexpected? I sure hope so. IT'S 2012 ZOMG! I added the corrosion and decay to the church to add to my point, and also added a rain of rose petals for a bit of irony.
