Igniting the Flame

A/N: A little background before we begin... This is a fanfiction of an iPhone otome game called "Pirates in Love" (if you haven't tried it, TRY IT. IT'S WORTH IT) and all of the characters are property of those creators (except for Dia, she's mine and is from my Vocaloids fic). But you should be able to google the characters. :3 So I haven't written a formal beginning, but the little brakets kind of explain it all, except for the "choose roomate" thingy. That's an actual part of the game and it's how you decide who's path you're going to pursue. I think that's it... Enjoy~ Oh, and this won't be the last otome game fic that I'll write. It just happens to be my longest. XD

First Spark:

[after sneaking on board]

Morgan: So... who’s going to be your roommate?

Dia: Erk... [thinking] I gotta choose? Oh wait... [speaking] Uh, Captain? I don’t mean to be rude or anything but… wouldn’t it be better if two of the guys bunked together? It’d only be morally right, you know?

Everyone: … [shocked]

Dia: What? Did I say something weird?

Morgan: Ahahahahahahaha!! Girl’s got brains, that’s for sure!

Dia: Uh…

Morgan: You do have a point. But that is kind of rude to throw one of the crewmates out of his room.

Dia: True…

Morgan: Then you choose a roommate!

Dia: [thinking] Craaaaap! Okay, think. So I have to choose between Eduardo, Russell, Christopher and Nathan… [keeps pondering to her self]

Morgan: Well?

Dia: This is harder than you think, Captain. Almost everyone here could kill me in my sleep.

Morgan: Ahahahahahahaha! Is that so? Well then, what do you think of everyone standing in front of you? And be honest. Or we’ll throw you into the sea.

Dia: EEP! OKAYOKAYOKAYOKAY!!! [sighs] Well… Eduardo seems very sadistic and unusually cruel. He’d be most likely to kill me in my sleep.

Eduardo: Sadistic…?

Dia: [ignoring him] Nathan doesn’t seem all that bad. Cold, yes. Evil? No. I have a feeling he’d threaten to kill me in my sleep, but not actually do it.

Nate: …

Dia: Russell is always in a bad mood, so I doubt I’d survive being his roommate. Not that he’s any better than Eduardo here. But at least he wouldn’t kill me or threaten to kill me.

Russell: Hey!!!

Dia: [puts her hand to her chin] So I guess the only logical choice would be Christopher. He wouldn’t actually try to hurt me or anything (since he’s a doctor).

Morgan: You are one helluvua woman, that’s for sure! You managed to figure us all out like that!

Dia: I did? Well, I was always told I was good at reading people.

Morgan: Now that you’ve gotten us figured out, who’s it going to be?

Dia: … [pinches the bridge of her nose] I have a feeling I’m going to regret this but… Eduardo.

Everyone: WHAAAAT?!?!

Russell: I thought you just said he could kill you in your sleep!

Dia: Yeah but… just because he can doesn’t mean he will.

Eduardo: So you think I’m a good guy?

Dia: I never said that explicitly. I just have this belief that everyone has SOME good in them… [looks over at Eduardo accusingly] It’s just some people’s good is much deeper down than normal.

Morgan: Than it’s settled! Dia will be staying with Eduardo.

Eduardo: Tch. Why do I have to put up with you?

Dia: Because you’re a genuinely good guy and you just act tough?

Eduardo: [points his gun at her] Crossed the line.

Dia: Sorrysorrysorrysorrysorrysorry!!! Please don’t kill me!!!!!

Eduardo: [sadistic smile] Hmph. So you do have some sense in you.

Dia: Q.Q [thinking] WHYYYYY?!???!

[in his room]

Eduardo: Now, get some sleep. You aren’t going to be a freeloader here and starting tomorrow you’ll be working dawn to dusk, you hear?

Dia: Yessir! Besides, I’d try and be useful anyways. Gotta pay my fair share of the work, right?

Eduardo: WHAT DID I JUST SAY ABOUT SLEEPING???

Dia: Eep! Uh, uh, one problem, though!

Eduardo: WHAT?

Dia: I’m supposed to take the floor, right? I am a guest, after all.

Eduardo: [points to the bed] Bed. Now.

Dia: Okay! Okay! [crawls into bed] G’night, Eduardo~!

Eduardo: Shut up and sleep already!

Dia: [chuckles a bit] Okay! [falls asleep]

Dia's Voice: Odd enough, I felt pretty safe being around him. He might seem cold and all but I still want to believe he’s a good guy.
