Her Words

WARNING: Mature content dealing with relationship infidelity and insecurity along with depressed thoughts.

It was long ago,
When the love was there,
Now four years have passed,
And it's barely a glimmer.

Day after day,
I see his eyes glow,
Many fleeting emotions,
Shine deep in his soul.

He stares blankly at me,
Doesn't know what to say...
How could he? We're dull-
Doomed to wither away.

I look down at my hands,
But my eyes no longer see,
What lies before me, no...
I see only what must be.

My whole body shakes.
I know I must stand.
My knees wobble,
My mouth tastes bland...

I look him in the eye,
I know what's at stake.
My mouth forms the words...
"My life, you must take."

....To be Continued.

This poem just came to me, inspired by many things I read about relationships gone wrong and the woman feeling she can no longer live...I feel it's wrong but it is a depressing issue.
