Donovan slowed the car down to a crawl across the road, now that we were closer to the nether world. I've always hated this slow pace required for humans. They were all like sloths.
Out of my peripheral vision, Donovan's lips pressed into a hard line to keep from laughing. His eyes focused, golden from hunting. I couldn't help myself at this sight. A chuckle slipped through my lips. Josephine, my less understanding, bleach blond "sister", decided she had enough of our secrecy.
"What is it now? I want to know," she moaned in her alluring voice.
"None of your business," I retorted rudely. I wasn't ever really nice when I hadn't hunted.
"Donovan?" she urged.
He only gave her a wry smile.
Josephine laid back in her seat and pushed out her plump rosy lip in a cute pout. She sat completely still, looking indignant the rest of the way to Tri- Valley high school's entrance.
